Parky. Telling it like it is!

Sobering stuff. They need to change the way club finances are structured. Owners should have to  deposit an exit bond, based on a % of operating costs, only refundable once a club is sold. Or something similar.

Chuffed that I've cancelled my Sky subscription and wishing I had Sky at the same time. :):(

Think I'm done with refreshing for today. Gut feel is at best a fairly meaningless announcement dragging it on into tomorrow. Which is a damn site better than the worst case, but not worth wasting the rest of the night waiting for.

You can all thank me when the successful takeover's announced in five minutes.

Once bitten, twice shy (or should that be 10x bitten, twenty times shy)... But confident talk from #bwfc that a deal for Football Ventures is most likely outcome. Will that be tonight? Not sure.

Bassini is waiting until you go to bed before he announces he was successful tonight

Salary cap being discussed by Andy townsend. It won't work unless it's global.

It'll never be global.

Fucking non starter!

Parkinson has spoken well tonight. Certainly compares favourably with Warburton and Townsend alongside him. He's a thoughtful guy. I'm a little sorry watching him that he never really got a chance to show what he could do with a stable, well financed base to build from.

He also looks about ten years younger!

No reason why it couldn't be installed in League One and League Two at least. Possibly even Championship if you could work out how to manage the clubs that come down.

Clubs in the third and fourth tier having wages 90+% of their revenue is ridiculous and unsustainable.

Warburton talking about punishments fitting the crime in terms of breaking financial rules to try and get promoted. Probably wants to look at his employers on that one.

And why would a player want to play in League 1 or 2 on a low salary cap when they could go potentially go abroad to somewhere that doesn't have a salary cap?

Any of the decent players could probably go to a foreign club either low in the league or even a league down, which will just leave a bunch of players with no chance of getting an offer anywhere else. Won't happen unless they don't care about killing the quality of the leagues IMO.

Oh god here we go

Still waiting, but a statement this late can only be an extension from the EFL with hopefully the administrators working alongside it, though that might depend on someone taking care of payday. Fingers crossed that we still have a club tomorrow. No idea where that leaves Saturday’s game, mind.

Then why wouldn't Jamie vardy in league 2 fuck off to fc Costa del ingles for 3x the money. For the sake of the global game you can't have a salary cap unless it's all over.

You'll end up with Madine earning 300k a week in china or other shit!
