It's pretty clear that Aldridge has been working closely with the Administrator and the forensic accountants.

If he had anything to hide he would have either confessed by now or been found out by the accountants wouldn't you think?

He had a good reputation when he joined the club and those sort of people put more value in keeping their reputation than keeping a job - you can always get another job but once you've lost your reputation you never get it back.

Seems FV are certainly keen to get him on board - Iles saying he will help them out - Nixon saying they are offering him a job - does it seem likely they would do that if he's help fuck the club over?

Aldridge would know as much about Anderson's running of the club as anyone there is and if he has been tainted by associations or actions to even a fraction of the stuff that Andersons supposed to have done do you really think anyone would touch him with a bargepole again, let alone offer him presumably a senior post at a club he's apparently helped the last owner to thoroughly rape and pillage?  It wouldn't make any sense would it?

Seems to me that the people that matter believe he's kept his honesty and integrity throughout, even if you believe differently.

Find the highlights of chesterfield home & away, Rochdale Oldham away,

and numerous dire home games

I didn't say we played total football all season, hence why I even quoted Bradford away. There were many games we played good football, likewise some that were bad.

When we were promoted and everyone was on the pitch against Peterborough, or when Wheaters header went in against Port Vale, no one cared. Nor did they when Wilbraham scored the winner against Forest the season later. The same Wilbraham fans were going nuts about pre game that Parkinson started him.

In my opinion winning games trump's style every time. Totally respect your own if you disagree. That's what these forums are for.

We are about to start a season on -12 points with the most negative, depressing manager we’ve had since mr freedman.

Someone pass me the renewal form :D

That's around fcuking 4 games in two years - I will ask you again please tell of these 'many' games we played well.

For the avoidance of doubt, could you please list these played well in games.

Fair points and yes forums are good for that

Parkinson will divide a lot of fans

imo I really don’t get why he’s sticking around, next season will be hard enough. regardless of the situation he will be blasted from the off

That’s what I am missing. Folk are talking about he’s good at the level etc but I aren’t o recall week after week being pissed off driving home. May be different with the trains on mind

I don't think one side of the debate is correct to be honest. There are valid concerns to be had about him staying. Likewise if he hadn't, the quality of his replacement. All we can do is see if it stands the test of time.

One thing he won't have is fan patience however, and that, I think could be a big problem. I can imagine a lot of fans forgetting that we have started pre season very badly organised.

Warburton was never involved beyond advising Basran who we know now is no longer involved...

David Lee with an inexperienced board? Sounds a bit risky to me. And as for toxicity this is going to be a tough season. Need the fans behind the club regardless. Just got to get on with it. Won’t be pretty regardless.

Lee wouldn't be my choice, but him being in charge would mean our assembled journeymen don't get booed when we go 1-0 down against Wycombe.

Is that fair? Not really, but there's just too much baggage with PP. You only get one chance at a first impression, and protracted takeover, lack of communication with players/staff and Paul Aldridge and Parky staying on is hardly signs of a bright new dawn.

I miss 50% of games as it is. When I do make it it’s a complete and utter ball ache, cocks my work up and I drive. If PP stays it might just tip me over the edge.

Think I need a new hobby :D

I'm sorry you lost your money if it means anything at all to you.

No need to be sorry. It’s not your fault.

The Anderson's and Aldridge however, should never be allowed anywhere near a business again. They’ll probably pop up somewhere soon though selling PPI claims. (after 29th August)

Aye that Barca book jules recommended will get me right in the mood for this season :D

I think first and foremost next season is about winning games and getting a bit of a feel good factor back.

that last promotion season under Parkinson had some great performances, but they were wins so did that make them good (oxford away - we certainly rode our luck) and some very poor performances (1 point off chesterfield who were relegated, losing to 10 man Oldham and that abject shite that was Rochdale away, Walsall away, Scunthorpe away, first half at Bradford and I could go on)

so so I get that he is good at this level, but new owners, new players, new beginnings - should we not have a new manager ?

as if and when we get promoted, me Parkinson’s recorded in the league above is dire........

so if I was putting a few years plan together, he would not be part of it.

If your looking to achieve nothing apart from mid table survival in Div One then Parkinson is the easy option, but if you want to give it a go after years of utter shite then he must be replaced.

Imagine if FV have just fed Nixon that they’re keeping Parky to see what the reaction is like.

Parky could just hire Howard to temper everyone's views and make him loved

Haha. Not a good move. While most started out loving H, I don’t think that’s the case anymore.

If anything I’m just curious as to what he actually knew. Still no clearer as to his agenda or whether he’s just the biggest wind up ever.

'Style of play?'?????? Under PP?

GTF

For most of my time watching BWFC have been a long ball team. Anyone remember the Bill Ridding era with Hartle and Banks (then Farrimond) pumping high balls up for Nat (later Wyn Davies)? So I don't really understand this yearning for tip-tap football.

It's not really about expecting Barcelona in white shirts, just more attacking intent would be nice. One of the worst attacks in the history of English football last season, and even in our year in League One we were outscored by Southend (7th) and Rochdale (9th).
