Just seen the highlights, soft penalty and keeper should have done much better with the goal.

Not totally unexpected losing, Pompey are a decent team despite their lowly position. Our time is now though, time to start getting some wins on the board

It’s just a shame things took so long to finalise otherwise this team could’ve overturned the point deduction

It’s getting there slowly

I don’t think zouma is as bad as people say.

people get that impression because he’s lanky and he must be poor at defending cause he’s young, strong and quick.

No, I think he's getting criticised because his decision making is suspect, he relies on his pace too much and dives in impetuously.

Nothing to do with being lanky.

I know nobody on here is writing him off, but hes about 6 games in

Everything he does is seen cos its obviously him

After 2 games, i felt edwards was in front of him, but i reckon theyve both got a chance at this level

Certainly not writing him off and I'd rather see him getting stuck in than shirking challenges.
The faults I mentioned will get ironed out with experience.

His touch is suspect as well but he's become almost talismanic already.

Obviously it's pub league but Grivosti is playing in the SPL at 20 and we let him go, he was better than Edwards at the same age when I saw him play.

Transfer window in January is massive, if the spine of the team goes then any building has been a waste so we need FV to show their true colours and keep the good uns else the whole rebuilding starts again and we're back in the shit.

For me any talk of a free hit this season is total bollocks, we need the core of the team in place for next season and we need to start judging the management on their results, honeymoon period is over after Blackpool I reckon.

Early worries are plan B, as soon as you have to switch Lowe to a different role like on Saturday then then we look a far less decent proposition but maybe someone will step up like KH has asked.

It would of had enough until the next transfer window

One of the reasons why we're fading after an hour is a lack of fitness. Another is a lack of quality options on the bench. We'd practically have had to rely on Lowe, Bridcutt, Crawford and Daryll Murphy to play ninety minutes every match, which would've been a challenge as we got into the winter months and when we'd be playing three times a week. And that's without factoring in any injuries our wingers might've picked up.

If we'd have been able to play our best starting eleven every week without fail I might've agreed with you, but we'd have had to have been very lucky to have done that.

Which means they've got an even better chance at the level we'll be in next season.  More than happy to keep our current 4 centre backs for next season bearing in mind that 2 of them will be unlikely to play 46 league games at their age.  Also happy to keep all the full backs we've got, young and older, you cant see any of them getting better offers but good enough for us.

Didnt take a lot of interest in yeterday, why did we move lowe?

Somebody injured?

Too much joy down the right hand side so standard switch with Lowe to right back and Murphy in middle. KH has already called for the lads further forward on the flanks to do more defending but if you're behind and chasing it won't always happen.

Really cant see what Lowe brings to team at RB; the lad got caught out with their goal so he got taken off almost immediately.

Luke Murphy was a waste of space when he come on and is not the answer

We have enough quality now to win games but we need someone to score goals when we are on top like the first half yesterday

Quite like Lowe in midfield at this level.

He often gets unfairly punished by referees for brilliant tackles.

I also like how he stuck with us when the going got really tough.

I like Lowe as well in midfield. Needs some flair players around him to let him get on with his job which i think in the right system he does well (not at full back and not under Parkinson). Had to smile at the poster who said a few weeks ago 'Lowe will be lucky to get a game under Hill'. Bet he will soon (if not already) be one of first names on team sheet. Now if they'd have said Murphy - he will be lucky to start once things settle down and barring injuries.

It was me. I said I wasn't sure if he'd play. Didn't say he'd be lucky to do so.

Fortunately, Hill has found a better food for him; further forward breaking things up.

Won't go into any more detail, other than to say, in some quarters he isn't rated, and even regarded as a liability. Which might explain why a more talented ball player in Bridcutt is often the deeper one receiving the ball from defence, looking to get things moving.

Odd that with him being a captain at Blackburn and with us and with him being a community ambassador at both clubs because of the way he conducts himself.

Not a question of character. Don't know why you're suggesting otherwise.

Can't say too much, but suffice to say not everyone there rates him.

Doesn't matter though, as long as he does the business when picked.
