London a newly introduced tier 4?

Impossible Micky. Will be imposed in the north with London and south east allowed to carry on regardless. Follow the story mate

Wonder if London based people plan to fuck off today/tonight then, potentially causing a worse impact

Do folk think that a lot of the people that live in London all have the ability to just go to second homes elsewhere?  As far as I’m aware it’s a distorted reality. Some would call it bullshit.

Do you mean those from down the Old Kent Road don’t all have a holiday cottage in Cornwall? I’m amazed.

I'm not talking about people with second homes, more millennials with families elsewhere

Rather than go on Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever, get out now whilst they still can

I can’t imagine many millennials having the financial clout to own property in London in the main? As such likely they were possibly going home to parents / family anyway?

it’s no different than anywhere else. If we go under harsher restrictions tomorrow I could go to the north west until it lifts. there would be no tangible benefit to doing so. Nowt I can do there that I can’t do here and vice versa. Same with London and south east.

if my mum lived in Cornwall now in tier one I would be there though. 100%. But she doesn’t.

I can’t see why anyone would now decide to move the location of their Xmas from London to the north.

Plus this virus is going to spread like wildfire in next few weeks due to the Xmas relaxations. Because too many people won’t stick to the rules and will find a reason to justify it. That’s upto each and every one of us.

I ain’t telling anyone how to live their lives. We do what we think is best. For some people Xmas is a massive thing and they’ve sacrificed so much this year. I wouldn’t begrudge anyone spending time With their family. We all know the risks. And it’s about that balance in our own minds

To be fair, all the government needs to do is publish the formula that calculates the Tiers, they must have one, they don't sit down with a bingo machine ffs. Why not just publish it so it’s black and white?

To be fair, I’m pretty sure folk from Bolton etc weren’t supposed to travel out of the area when it all kicked off again a couple of months back. These regional travel bans aren't new are they? Sure Wales had something similar

Sky news had a piece on last night looking at hospital admissions / capacity, plenty hospitals in the North got hammered and have come out the other side of their local peak. You look at that with R numbers and some of the regions in the North look to have very similar figures in Tier 3 as places in the South East had two weeks back in Tier 2, it’s fair enough to question that

Just publish the formula and put it to bed

They can't do that if they make it up as they go along though can they

You'd be surprised, a lot are gearing to fuck off straight away now

For what benefit though? To sit in a strange house somewhere?  No pubs and No restaurants. Makes no sense to me. But maybe I’m a bit thick

TBF there would be differences.

We went up to our village centre earlier; places selling mulled wine and hot food from shop doorways, carol singers etc. Distanced queues outside butchers etc. Was a really nice atmosphere and felt very xmasy. First time I've "felt" it.

Be awful for them that don't get the chance to experience this week if T4 shuts the lot down

Been to Tradford Centre today, thought it would be awful but thankfully very quiet in comparison to a usual Saturday.

99% of folk with masks on. Only ones that didn't were lads or girls in their 20s with the odd splattering of those who I assume are exempt.

Lockdowns clearly don’t work

Will we try something different?

They clearly do to varying degrees relating to how strict and adhered to they are

The whole tier system was trying something different, that hasn't really worked out except for Herefordshire

Where do we go from here?

Is that a true reflection of what is out there though? You think walking down Newport street you would get that? Walking down market street in little Lever? Genuine question that

Course not. Just a shame for many that "could" experience it though.

Saw 3 grannies on a bench eating a chippy together. Warmed my heart. That could be the only chance they'd get to socialise

Been an awful year and any droplets of hope are important

Hope is always the most important thing

🤣🤣. Give over.

80% of the nations “celebrities” reside down there.

They’ll be wheeling Bob Geldof out by Xmas eve

As I’ve said people need to do what is right for them. To some this is the focal point of their year and most have sacrificed so much already and some more than others. My brother hasn’t seen my mum for months as he’s a frontline NHS worker.

im just not having that the south east of England is going To up sticks en masse now

Which was my earlier point. So why are they suddenly going now because of the restrictions which was your inference ?

And kudos to him. My Sister and bro in law are the same

I'm sure they won't, but this govt are just coming across as weak as piss
