As far as I’m aware it’s a distorted reality. Some would call it bullshit. Quote

I'm not talking about people with second homes, more millennials with families elsewhere Rather than go on Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever, get out now whilst they still can Edited December 19, 2020 by jmjhb Quote

As such likely they were possibly going home to parents / family anyway? it’s no different than anywhere else. If we go under harsher restrictions tomorrow I could go to the north west until it lifts. there would be no tangible benefit to doing so. Nowt I can do there that I can’t do here and vice versa. Same with London and south east. if my mum lived in Cornwall now in tier one I would be there though. 100%. But she doesn’t. I can’t see why anyone would now decide to move the location of their Xmas from London to the north. Quote

Escobarp Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Plus this virus is going to spread like wildfire in next few weeks due to the Xmas relaxations. Because too many people won’t stick to the rules and will find a reason to justify it. That’s upto each and every one of us. I ain’t telling anyone how to live their lives. We do what we think is best. For some people Xmas is a massive thing and they’ve sacrificed so much this year. I wouldn’t begrudge anyone spending time With their family. We all know the risks. And it’s about that balance in our own minds Quote

Why not just publish it so it’s black and white? To be fair, I’m pretty sure folk from Bolton etc weren’t supposed to travel out of the area when it all kicked off again a couple of months back. These regional travel bans aren't new are they? Sure Wales had something similar Sky news had a piece on last night looking at hospital admissions / capacity, plenty hospitals in the North got hammered and have come out the other side of their local peak. You look at that with R numbers and some of the regions in the North look to have very similar figures in Tier 3 as places in the South East had two weeks back in Tier 2, it’s fair enough to question that Just publish the formula and put it to bed They can't do that if they make it up as they go along though can they Quote

We went up to our village centre earlier; places selling mulled wine and hot food from shop doorways, carol singers etc. Distanced queues outside butchers etc. Was a really nice atmosphere and felt very xmasy. First time I've "felt" it. Be awful for them that don't get the chance to experience this week if T4 shuts the lot down Quote
Spider Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 The bellyaching and whining from the london area will be unlike anything we ever managed up here. Quote
Winchester White Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Been to Tradford Centre today, thought it would be awful but thankfully very quiet in comparison to a usual Saturday. 99% of folk with masks on. Only ones that didn't were lads or girls in their 20s with the odd splattering of those who I assume are exempt. Quote

Saw 3 grannies on a bench eating a chippy together. Warmed my heart. That could be the only chance they'd get to socialise Been an awful year and any droplets of hope are important Hope is always the most important thing Quote
