Yes that's the unfortunate consequence of the EU leaders dithering about, while the UK was ordering masses of the vaccines months ago .

EU leaders were even trying their best to hijack our relentless pace of vaccinations.

We've got to look after our own people first and foremost.

Heard a similar rumour on the telly.

Maybe why Boris did an appearance this evening.

Really got to get confidence back, I do hope that nothing political was behind this, because it could have a bad impact, particularly so in Europe.

The under 40’s will be the group with the lowest take up

Gets harder from here I think

Hoping to book my second one soon .

My better half is yet to be summoned for her first .

Celebrity vaccer on duty yesterday

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but the majority of those countries that banned the AZ vaccine have now done a U turn.

Probably a post for the politics thread really

Which is good. Though any no shows is a bad thing.

If they are over 50 you can book it no need to wait for a letter.

I had a lovely lady (Scottish) sorting mine out when I rang the 119 service. Takes a while (press 1 for...) but nice to have a voice.

You’d think so, of course.

But no, the French and German authorities are now (rere) reviewing.

We mock them, make derisory comments about them, tut and grumble about them, call them all kinds of names.

Yet we cannot wait to be amongst them.

We are a strange bunch, the Brits.

From a funeral related Facebook group:

2 Covid stories this week.  Firstly, a 52 year old lady that died at home of stomach cancer.  Her 3 Daughters were with her for her last few days and 2 of them tested positive for Covid.  The GP has listed Covid on the MCCD despite the deceased never actually being tested!  Secondly, an 89 year old lady that died at home 37 days after being tested positive for Covid.  Again, her GP has listed Covid on the MCCD.  Both families accepted what The Registrar told them and have only raised concerns after registration.  These 2 incidents make a mockery of the figures we are constantly being presented.  I know Covid is real (I've had it), and has taken many, many people away from their families, but instances like this make me doubt a lot of what we're fed by the spin doctors.

Other than speed of processing the deceased, I’m not sure why GPs would be adding to the Covid19 statistics. (Death due to covid requires only one GP signature. Other causes still require two independent GPs to sign)

If only SAGE based all their advice on anecdotal evidence from Facebook.

I only quote for info. I’m not arsed if numbers are fudged by lazy GPs.

And besides, maybe there’ll eventually be an audit on the statistics given out and these anecdotes play their part in any inquiry.
