We’re in France and just gone on lockdown, all the bars and restaurants closed from midnight, we now have to try and get home as eurotunnell and the ports are closed.

Sounds like you may have to stay for a while

Interesting that some folk are looking at this and thinking they've already had it

The Mrs was out of action for a few days around Christmas as well, could barely move and get out of bed

I may have a day away from the media

Spent the first 15 minutes of today moving from relative optimism right down to genuinely planning to steal a shopping trolley to push our belongings around in by the end of the summer.

All this fucking about we’re going to have to do had better work. And fast. Rioting could be the only thing that moves people this summer otherwise.

Went to bed thinking it’ll be ok.turned on the news got reminded that over 70s mighy need to self isolate for 4 months. I’ve got three grandparents who this would affect. My Grandma lives on her own and the thought of her being alone for 4 months with no visitors breaks my heart

Has anyone on here had it yet?

This website has proved time and again to be a fairly accurate representation of our society as a whole (got brexit and the election spot on),.

Could it be a massive overreaction?

It’s a nightmare we’ve got the dog here with us so can’t do anything until we find a vet that is still open. The virus is spreading fast over here, there is a mass exodus today after last nights announcement that only essential businesses can remain open.

Loads of people only arrived yesterday and are now being told they have to leave today, as you say we could be here for months, on the plus side shops are full of food and toilet rolls.

Ah so you have to get dog vaccinated before you travel back?

I think personally if you are elderly or with some sort of health issue (my god daughter has cystic fibrosis 😔) then this is a really really bad thing. For the majority of us relatively healthy people outside of those categories it’s going to be ok. Problem we have is spreading it to Elderly loved ones etc.

could be wrong but that’s my take on this from what I’ve read

I've generally found avoiding the news and social media makes for a more pleasant day ☺️

News/media are like pigs in shit when it comes to things like this

Yes has to be checked by a vet and have it’s passport stamped.

Saw a headline last night, "Day of Death" 😵

Put radio on this morning and heard the global death rate has actually gone down to 0.7%  - and this includes those teated for the disease after dying of other causes.

I had a flu type thing in mid Jan. Bloke who stands next to me at sons football academy, 6 hrs a week, came back from Wuhan just before xmas, he had "man flu" in early Jan. He didn't get tested as his trip to Wuhan was considered too early at the time. So who knows?? Thing is non of us will know unless we end up in hospital. Theres 4 in my house, how many times are we going to have to isolate this year?

If it is 0.7%, and we have 21 deaths, extrapolation gives us a pool of 2,857 people who were infected 23 days ago (average time from infection to death).

Some of the pool were probably in other countries, so if we conservatively reduce the pool to a third it gives us 857 cases in UK, 23 days ago.

The infection rate doubles every 3-4 days.

If we go with the 4 days, this suggests we have over 45k cases in UK now -  315 deaths in 3 weeks time.

Time will tell if this is accurate or bullshit.

Wife in aldi yesterday took 5 single yoghurt pots to the till, she was told she could only buy 4 at a time. Funny thing is she could have bought 4 of the six packs of said yoghurt. Madness!

After our Far Eastern cruise was cancelled Mrs Manc booked for us to go to Dominican Republic tomorrow morning. That’s just now been cancelled. Got to wonder how many airlines and holiday companies will get into serious financial trouble now

Very worried for folk like Traf especially

Wife tells me there were only 3 bottles of any type of milk at Tesco Middlebrook, can happily report that once again cider supplies seem unaffected.

I’ve always worried about Traf, but it’s been more of “might end up on a register” sort of worry.

Now, I’m just hoping everyone sits in isolation and starts booking holidays to cheer themselves up.

Use Traf!
