The missus has just spent an entire 12 hour shift taking care of seriously Ill patients with suspected coronavirus. 3 boxes of masks and 2 boxes of gloves she went through. Not proper masks though, just those shit surgical ones because they have run out of the ones that actually help.

Apparently those surgical masks do the job. I was testing for FFP masks last week but was called off the job as we're all switching to surgical masks instead.

No, not Bolton pal but not far away.  They are seriously struggling just like many other ED's.

It's getting her down a bit to be honest, winter pressures take their toll but this on top is now getting serious. She was looking after an old couple in their 90's both with breathing difficulties in one cubicle. She didn't think they would make it back home. Then she had 4 other cubicles all with suspected CV to try and look after too. Madness.

One of the problems we're going to have is that to get to the bit where we look like geniuses, you have to go through the part where we have significantly more cases and deaths than everybody else. And at that point public pressure will be so high, the government will cave and stick us all on lockdown anyway.
