Its appeasement, that's all it is, and more people will end up dying in the longer term if you essentially capitulate to agressors. These aren't peace deals in the slightest.

  • We’ve reached a point where folk are so entrenched in their support for trump that they’ll side with Putin if it means not losing face on the socials. Thats where we are now. its ok

The bloke is just great at getting over his point in simple terms.

A few Ukrainian soldiers are in the UK being trained on using then armoured vehicles being supplied. As per the BBC.

Pentagon now reckons Ukraine  have more ‘functional’ tanks on the ground than Russia.

Functional.

120+ Phoenix Ghost drones sounds particularly interesting - if the speculation over their operational capability is true.

News saying we're sending tanks to Poland and they're sending theirs to Ukraine.

Horrific. They're literally trying to wipe Ukraine off the map.

Even if Putin “wins” in Ukraine, Russia is completely screwed for decades.

Say the SAS have been getting involved like the Russians have been saying. Does that change things drastically?

I reckon the west had been far more involved that they would ever let on. Not necessarily with direct fighting, but certainly from tactics, satellite imagery, media work as well as the military equipment.

Can certainly imagine sas etc in there as part of intelligence gathering.

They’re trained to say they’re on a geography field trip or something like that. I’ve watched that Celebrity Look A Mardy Arse run by former SAS guys.

Only if they can prove it, which they can't. Volunteers innit.

It doesn’t matter. The Russians will use anything to excuse their invasion and their inability to achieve their objective. I’ve no doubt UK and US military have been involved (others to a lesser extent) to train and provide intelligence to Ukraine before and during this conflict. Russia knows this and the rest of the world knows it.
It’s ironic that the rest of the world are supplying Ukraine with intelligence and weaponry to defeat Russia. The rest of the world provided the same to Russia during WW11 to help The Soviets defeat Germany in the East.
That won’t be remembered on the 9th May when Russia celebrates winning WW11.

Ok so maybe I’ve seen too many spy films but when they say they SAS are involved it won’t be on the front line will it?

So wouldn’t this have been happening since the beginning ?

Almost certainly. Plenty of American "volunteers" involved too. And many from other countries of course.

I dunno, everyone expected Ukraine to get steamrollered in days. Maybe special forces in Kiev to assist evacuation of VIPs. Not until they held out and it became clear there was a fight to be fought would they get involved imo.

I have to admit, I'm also sceptical of the idea there are British Army personnel fighting on the front line on the direction of the state, even as "volunteers".

Difficult to know what goes on behind the scenes. What is divulged, sometimes for political reasons, may not always be the true picture.

Talking about spy films, went to watch Operation Mincemeat the other day. One of the people involved in its inception was Ian Fleming. Intelligence can be more effective than heavy armour. See also Alan Turing.

We wouldn’t see set a single British soldier on Ukranian soil, simply not worth it if they are captured.

I’d imagine there’s a special forces presence on the borders, and Zelensky will be given all the intelligence he asks for, but any foreign nation risking a soldier on the front line would be asking for a wider conflict.

Those volunteers are just war-mad lunatics. Fair play to ‘em because I wouldn’t fancy being a Chechen POW.

Putin, by the way, has definitely got some serious illness. That’s bad news as he now has nothing to lose at all.

I still think he has the potential to really create havoc further afield.

No way on earth is he stopping after Ukraine, Moldova obviously then he will go to Finland and Sweden, how much sitting and watching do the West do then. He's already made his intentions clear with his previous threats
