  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

  • I disagree. His BWFC years were some of his greatest and happiest of his career. His latest SSN documentary piece highlighted this, as does countless footage of his wonder, his PFA nominatio

I get where you are coming from, but with Sheehan and Dempsey both still out, it may turn out OK for us, and him. Assuming they don't have an offer accepted overnight!

With a number of games to come, and a light midfield, we may as well give him a go in the Sheehan role if IE still sees this as his preferred way to play.

We certainly wouldn't have anyone else in as an alternative.

We're not 'choosing not to' recall Morley. Anything for a little dig at the club from you

Bolton fans will have to wait a few more days for Aaron Morley, however, with the club confirming that recall rules mean the paperwork to bring him back from Wycombe can only be submitted at the start of the window.

Ian Evatt confirmed: “Aaron will be coming back but we have to wait until January 1 to call him back so he won’t be available for tomorrow. He will be available for Saturday at Exeter City.”

Coincidentally, Morley will be able to play a final game for Wycombe against Exeter on New Year’s Day before re-joining his Bolton team-mates.

That's a shame. I was hoping an in form player coming back might force Evatt's hand into 3 in midfield, but 2 it is

Anybody know what’s happening with Khumbeni and whether he’s coming back too? He also seems to have benefitted from his loan.

At least his last game was a good 2-0 win at Birmingham

That game aside, he was actually playing well at the start of the season. When fully fit he is a quality player, just has had so many injuries here. He's probably the only midfielder we have who can tackle well (not saying put a tackle in as we all know Tomo can fly in to get his yellows) and get forward and score a goal

Season long loan.

Dunno if there is a recall option, but he's unlikely to get a game if he came back anyway.

Leave him there.

Didn't know he was Malawian. First one for the club I reckon.

Agreed.  There was a time I was a bit disappointed with his quality/delivery, but he's first midfielder on teamsheet for me now, more important/consistent than Sheehan and twice the player Tomo is.  As you say, the only player in the squad that's above average at the main qualities you look for - energy/box to box, tackling, beating a man, physical strength, driving forward with the ball, shooting, passing, intelligent runs into space/the box, heading defensively, heading offensively (2 separate skills as demonstrated by Santos!).

Whats the point

Seriously?

Just a light hearted reference to the (latest) factual error in the BN article.

Sorry, fair enough if so

Just so many sad fuckers these days

So Aaron Morley could play against Exeter twice in four days for two different clubs.

He’s gonna be an unused sub as the gaffer shows who’s boss.

85th minute sub replacing a striker whilst we're losing.

Josh Sheehan has returned to full training after a hamstring problem but is unlikely to make the starting XI.

“He's back in training, so it's great to have him back on the field,” Atherton said. “It’s possibly a bit early for him to be looking at a start yet, but hopefully, as I say, he's not too far away and we can start to involve him on match days.”

Eoin Toal is also closing in on a return and could feature in the squad after he finally got clear of the hamstring issue he had picked up at Stevenage.

“He's getting there,” Atherton added. “Again, another frustrating bit, we got him back at Christmas and then a there was step back. We're looking forward to having him back in the squad as well.”

Quite a few of our players seem to have setbacks during recovery. Coincidence or to do with our medical team?

If these are the same people making the decisions to keep injured players on the pitch when they’re clearly crocked (which has lead to them having sustained spells on the sidelines) then I can’t say I have the fullest confidence in them.

He'll be coming back here for our expert medical attention I guess.

Wasnt there meant to be a root and branch analysis done and changes to be made, as to why we had so many injuries...months later nothings changed. Can only assume it was one of a litany of bs excuses for poor performances or the findings showed IE's been signing people with a history of injury so the team supressed the news.

These clowns in the medical team played Dempsey with a broken back last season

How much of it is down to them, and down to Evatt?

Only the other week he admitted that the physio gave him a questioning look when he considered putting someone (Desmond?) on.

If he wasn't fit enough to come on, he shouldn't have been on the bench full stop.

It's fucking weird.

Baxter and Dion played injured last season too.
