  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

  • I disagree. His BWFC years were some of his greatest and happiest of his career. His latest SSN documentary piece highlighted this, as does countless footage of his wonder, his PFA nominatio

You reckon everyone on them is shit!

Well most have been shit this season at times; who hasn’t?

The ones you don't include in "most"?

No division 3 player is "on it" every game.

Until Evatt gets his act together, or someone else gets a go, we won't know exactly how good or otherwise they are.

Hope not he is really shit

Except he's not. He's clearly not a Luke Shaw (ooops) or Kyle Walker (ooops) but he was better than leaving a place empty.

I just think he declined a loan out, or being sold & owd Mr. Obstinate froze him out.

He's hardly played this season

True; there is a reason for that

There is.

The ones that have are mostly shit though, so it wouldn't make any difference.

Rather that than another hexagonal peg in a plug socket.

Is there any one from Toal, Sheehan, Dempsey or Forino (half the team) due back any time soon?

Not sure about Forino but the other three are due back in the next two weeks

I missed this. Good news on the injury front (Shame its not Dempsey and Sheehan back first)

Have you got any new injury concerns?

No, just positives I think. Jordi (Osei-Tutu) is back, fine, available again. Eoin Toal is back training, which is a huge positive for us. They are both big players for us so really good news.

It’s going to be busy but it is a crucial period for us. It is great that the squad is getting stronger – getting Eoin, Jordi and Carlos (Mendes Gomes) back. Josh Sheehan is not far away, Kyle Dempsey is not far away. Obviously, with January coming up we have got the option to bring Aaron (Morley) back and bring players in.

Great that Eoins fit again but where’s he going to play? On balance I’d say Forrester ought to be in but we know he won’t so he just gets pushed further down the list which is a real shame because for me he’s the best all round out and out defender we have.

Let slower-downer and sulker-in-chief exit. For money if we can get it

We all know he's "our best defender" but that's no use while he drags everyone & everything down.

Well it appears that January is our last chance to actually get something for him so if there genuinely are clubs after him then I’d be snapping their hands off. On his day Rico is majestic but sadly there are very few of those days now.

When it comes to actually defending he’s up their with the best in this league but it’s when he thinks he’s Beckenbauer and can stroll out from the back that it’s goes wrong.

He’s done well for us but now it’s time to move him on.

Fuckin hell, what’s this big pile on Rico about?

Guy’s playing to orders. He’s been no worse than any of the other defenders.

Be careful what you wish for.

Any team in our division would have him.

You're right. He's a victim of our system.

Ask him to defend he's as good as you'll get. Other clubs fear him.

He's an awesome defender being asked to do more than defend,

Much like all our team being asked to be square pegs for round holes, then wondering why it's not working

Reading this forum you'd think Santos and Johnston were poor players.  They are far from that.  If they are our worst problems we'll be fine.  In fact we have half a team worth of good central defenders when they are all fit, why we can't get a decent defence out of that lot doesn't reflect well on the manager (maybe having real full backs playing at full back would help).

I wouldn't disagree with any of that.

If, however, he wants away, then if we could get any money for him, I think we should.

If we were in the top 2, or a point or two off, then that changes things.

Whilst we're some way off, and someone came in with a reasonable offer, then using it for reinvesting wouldn't be the end of the world.

Honestly I think Santos would be better in a back 4 and just told to defend he doesn’t have the skill set to dictate play from the back .

With time, he can play a decent long pass.

With good marking/pressing then..

Yes but teams have sussed us out and they don’t allow him too.

Fair play to Baxter for playing on with a broken nose yesterday. But ffs, put a keeper on the bench, you mad bastard.

I suppose we’ve been saying it for a few years now about having a sub keeper. Feels like we’ve been playing with fire for ages, or maybe not given the habit of modern goalkeepers to pick up an ‘injury’ at convenient parts of the game to allow for a drinks break and team meetings.

Never agreed with it. It'll definitely bite us on the arse one day.

Yep. Taking the piss

Teams even at 3rd & 4th tier are allowed 7 subs. The leagues should demand that one be a keeper.
