  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

  • I disagree. His BWFC years were some of his greatest and happiest of his career. His latest SSN documentary piece highlighted this, as does countless footage of his wonder, his PFA nominatio

In fairness, it can be a risk worth taking.

Desmond is quality, and could prove very useful to us.

Dempsey is also a fine player.

I don't think the coaching approach previously has helped, but if they contribute to us getting up the leagues then great.

This Etete fella is a loan though.

No games, no form and only a few months here.

We're getting fuck all out of him being here.

quite correct both Desmond and Dempsey have been quality.....And with all those out of contract at the end of the season i would offer Dempsey a pay as you play contract.

Yes i can see the point of gambling one perhaps two at a push players who we might not get otherwise with their playing record, but we seem to have 6/9 players unavailable for the last three seasons every week.

If you have a 24 man squad having up to a third unavailable week on week is one reason we have not progressed

I suspect it’s one of the criteria which ends up putting them in our bracket of affordability.

We’ve had some decent ones that have contributed who previously had poor records; Lee, John, JDB, Dempsey, looks like Tutu and Southwood could be others who fall in that bracket.

If they are a thing, why isn't every contract pay as you play, why do clubs pay a set wage if they don't have to?

A bit gutted about Etete though, despite his disastrous debut as I reckon that when he got up to speed he could have given us a different dimension in our attacking play, but it wasn't to be.

Still don't understand why he was there when he gave away that pen and he looked very rusty in general but he can hold up the ball and bring others into play if he stays forward and we need someone who can do that better than Vic.

Dempsey is contracted to 2026. He's going to be here on full pay regardless unless he is moved on, which I don't expect.

Could become a cult hero for us.

Appearance’s 1

cross to the face to make it 0-1

handball for a pen to make it 1-0

Etete out for up to 6 weeks send him back .

He didn’t pick up his thigh injury by running.

Is he still within the 28 day cooling off period so we can get a refund?

Pay as you play?

Fuck me :D

Don’t forget Dan he’s injured again at Cambridge hamstring again.

Etete back for the Blackpool (a) and Wigan (a) week then (about six weeks away).

He will rip em a new arsehole.

Thus endeth my optimism about the three remaining derbies of the season.

Pay as you play often get mentioned when taking about keeping hold of injury prone players or those folk aren't sure about

I'm not sure why as I've never heard of anyone who signed one

The nearest you'd get is appearance bonuses

It explains loads

Win the chumps with Barnet makes eveveryone a tactical genie arse

On to etete, nobody knows the deal

Every chance we aint shelling out a penny

Im not arsed about the cost, my issue is we are a striker down on what we thought we needed

Maybe

C'mon guys. Don't ignore the easy lines. You may not get another chance.

Even if we're able to negotiate on his salary in lieu of him being seriously fragile goods, he's taken up a squad place we could have made much better use of. A bit of a shambles that doesn't help SS one bit

Only relevant if we have run out of spaces

And he should be locked in the hotel until he signs it. Deja poo, feels like I've heard this shit before.

Is it the football equivalent of a zero hours contract?

He’ll soon be in the same folklore category as Trevor Morgan and Ian Moores.

Can’t see him playing again for us tbh.  Bound to pick up another injury before being fully match fit. Big shame - could really do with that 4th striker option.

A crazy decision looking even more crazy and that’s not in hindsight. If Etete was the best Markham could come up with to replace Dion, then he needs sacking, not to mention that we never properly replaced Bod or Jerome either. We must have known the injury risks with him and so it’s come to pass. I wasn’t concerned about his personal lack of goals if he could create something for others but he can’t do anything if he’s injured and his record on that was all too obvious.

2nd striker option would be nice 😉

Dempsey back training on grass

What does he normally train on?  I know 1 or 2 look like they're running in treacle but he isn't one of them.

Anyway, great news, that would be a massive boost if Dempsey plays a few games this season.
