Fair play to Baxter for playing on with a broken nose yesterday. But ffs, put a keeper on the bench, you mad bastard.

Yep. Taking the piss

Teams even at 3rd & 4th tier are allowed 7 subs. The leagues should demand that one be a keeper.

Thing is, the stubborn bastard will never once be able to point to the fact that he had 7 outfield players on the bench as the reason why we won a game, because you’ll only get 5 on the pitch so you can’t categorically say it’s the reason.

I know it’s rare, but the one time it does bite us on the arse and cost us points, even if it’s 1 game in 5 years, it’ll be directly attributable to his bonkers decision.

Especially given that the vast majority of his changes are pre-determined.

That's two strikers out of the five.

Others tend to follow or happen just before.

Not really a sound reason for it.

And always a full back.

One on 70. Attackers on 75.

If there's a worthwhile time to do it, it'd be when we have everyone (or almost everyone) available

Obviously, it's a bit pointless full stop if he decides which changes he's making before kick-off, and is actually probably harming us if we're doing it to fit the likes of Arfield or SSA in

Just reading Evatt's comments about Vic being poorly.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/24823924.bolton-wanderers-boss-eyes-consistency-new-year/

Fair enough in the explanation of him having had flu, and still suffering, but the final part "so that might be a bit of a process.." is typical of him

Maybe nitpicking, but it is another example of "Evatt speak" that annoys folk.

We get it, he's been rough and it may take a bit of time for him to get fully better, but cut out the sport-babble.

If he's been in bed for a week, I'm a bit surprised they have tried to get him on an exercise bike straight away too.

We can recall Morley but we are choosing not to until the Exeter game.....He is playing for Wycombe ironically against Exeter on Thursday

Gamble if he gets injured I reckon he’s off for a fee !

Exact image I see in my mind when I see folk harping on about Morley.

The Dempsey news isn’t all bad at least it comes at a time that we can de register him better than being told after we have named the squad he will be out for the season

If it makes room for a return of bang average, then it’s a big shiny silver lining. If only.

Let’s be honest Dempsey is a good player but he as been in and out with injuries it was is back last season .
don’t a understand allowing Morley to play tomorrow if we don’t have to then having him back for Exeter the following day when he won’t be ready to play and risking injury air yellow and red cards

Makes more sense probably not far off agreeing a deal so letting him play . Chance for the lad to play in the championship next season .  just hope Sheehan doesn’t spend to long out with Dempsey probably being out for the season we will be looking light

Maybe and i know its guesswork, we have an earliest release date in the deal

Pure guesswork but it doesnt stop anybody else

Morley can't play for anyone else this season as he's featured for us and Wycombe.

I think it's very unlikely we've simply decided to allow Morley to play tomorrow

It'll probably be a case of us having to give some kind of notice - perhaps as short as 24 hours - or time required for the rubber stamping of the paperwork

We're not 'choosing not to' recall Morley. Anything for a little dig at the club from you

Bolton fans will have to wait a few more days for Aaron Morley, however, with the club confirming that recall rules mean the paperwork to bring him back from Wycombe can only be submitted at the start of the window.

Ian Evatt confirmed: “Aaron will be coming back but we have to wait until January 1 to call him back so he won’t be available for tomorrow. He will be available for Saturday at Exeter City.”

Coincidentally, Morley will be able to play a final game for Wycombe against Exeter on New Year’s Day before re-joining his Bolton team-mates.
