  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

Tbf, they all do

Forino, Jones, Toal, Johnston, Toal, Santos

All had long spells out

Prob shows why we need 6

And why JDC should be respected

And out injured as often as the rest

And, for me, not big enough, which is a shame for him

Couldn’t he do a Campo type role in front of the back four, he seems to have the ability to me?

Not sure he's been as bad- he broke his toe on his stairs pre season, which is just a freakish one- but hasn't been selected as often as he may have been.

Forrester out until next season.

Not good, been playing really well under SS.

Santos needs to step up now until he leaves .

A real shame. He was showing what he was about last season when injury stopped him, same this time round, shown himself to be a really decent defender over the last few months.

Forrester has been doing well. Unfortunately, injuries have been a regular feature of his time here.

I wonder if SS will take a more ruthless view of these players who miss a lot of football

Been here before.

He missed a load at the beginning after falling down stairs.

Not really a football related injury.

If SS was to take a ruthless view, he'd get rid of every centre half we have- they've all been out for periods of time.

Will Forrester has had a catalogue of injuries throughout his career, both before and at Bolton.

Of course the stairs was a freak accident. But he’s had numerous here, at Port Vale and on loan spells away. Happy to provide a list if you need me to.

I like the lad and he’s a good player. Simply saying that SS may take a different view of him and one or two others when sorting his squad for next season. The ‘type’ of injury will come into it. This isn’t Forresters first hamstring injury unfortunately for him.

Same with the other centre halves, as I said, including hamstring injuries.

I do know what you're saying, we're all aware of injuries, and no one is pretending otherwise, but SS isn't going to make any sort of wholesale changes to our centre half group.

Even if he wanted to, I doubt very much that we can afford to, and he'd have to try to move them on, which isn't likely to yield much revenue.

Only Santos' wage to save. Jones maybe, though he's arguably the best we have at crossing the ball when supporting forward play from that position.

Far more important that the imbalance amongst the attacking midfielders gets addressed.

And a left back, assuming the lad on loan at Crewe isn't seen as ready to step up.

Schumacher went to watch him recently apparently.

I think with how many holes we have to fill in some very key areas over the summer, I imagine he'll be given his chance and left back will be low on the list of priorities.

Yeah fair enough. I wasn't singling Forrester out. And i have no idea how many 'matchdays' we lose to injury compared to other squads. Just playing devils advocate really.

I don't think the squad in general needs quite as much work as some think.

I know Jones was looking at a move to Oz but I think he has some value to add (if fit) and might take another year.

As you say, there are imbalances to address, but moving some on will be the challenge.

Be an interesting summer for sure.

I’ve watched young Max Conway a good few times at Crewe and reckon he’s as good as if not better than any we have for that LWB position. He also seems to have bulked up, gained confidence and has real pace which we’ve lacked. Maybe not first choice but certainly an option to call on for me and I’d definitely bring him back.

I said the same back in Jan. He'd had the experience of league 2 and done well so I thought we should have brought him back rather than rely on a youngster who hadn't played any men's football.

For me he looks more than capable of being our main left back if we're in league 1 next season.

I think we did the right leaving him where he is. Fighting it out in the team most weeks.

I expect to see him feature heavily in pre-season or the early part of the season.

I dont think SS fancies Schön there (or anywhere else really)
