He's not in the side. Opening is better than not playing from his perspective.

He isn't without experience neither.

he isnt

but he was the best in the world last summer

he needs to be in the team

maybe itd keep root away from brook, too  :)

good problem to have

With the best will and all that, the team is doing well without him, so the dilemma is risking the harmony and balance or get him to open- even if its just an initial move to get him back in.

Just trust Ben and Baz

One day team demolishing Bangladesh.

Scored a superb 327 and then Curran took out their first 3 for peanuts - Rashid now cleaning up the middle and lower order.

Over rate now over 15 - was a great match for a while but is becoming a procession as England surely clinch the series.

Great preparation for the WC.

It is good prep, but it’s months away. ODIs might not last much longer.

Hope they do.

As much as a T20 can be entertaining, with the hundred too, the short forms may become overloaded.

An ODI is a great balance for someone who can't attend a full test match, but wants a proper day out.

I do like the ODI WC.

Long enough to be a proper challenge but still bitesize and suitable for a WC competition format.

Imagine a TM format WC - it would take forever so if cricket is going to have a credible WC it really has to be in the ODI format IMO.

Quite like the current test world championship.

When Jimmy ultimately leaves, we will miss him. While there are several talented bowlers on the rise, losing a player of Jimmy's calibre must be difficult. Broad won't lag behind him by much.

Dropped Foalkes?

Better win the series..

It's only for the Ireland test. Foakes may be back for the Aussies...
