Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Not that I’m aware of.

What did the analyst do? Were they in cahoots

No idea to be honest. Evatt et al used to enjoy long weekends in Ibiza during early season international breaks.

Craddock was undermining Evatt’s authority is the best way I can put it. Once he’d done that it was difficult for him to stay. Bit daft on his part as he’d worked his way up into a senior position.

Ah well. I’m moved on now. So have they 👍

Yep. I’m under no illusions that Schumacher will also have his weaknesses as a manager, but genuinely enjoying having a manager on the side who doesn’t look like he’s about to start a scrap every 2 minutes. In years to come I’ll remember Evatt as much for his drama as for his 4 relatively successful years.

Best time to go to Ibiza in fairness.

The clamour on social media for Big Sam to replace Markham is really getting on my tits

Anyone who wants him / thinks he would be any use is a mentalist. Our fans love being lost in time. Same cunts would have been posting “should have give it Darby until the end of the season”

Regardless of anything else, im all but certain SS wouldnt want him around

Yes still me, me, me and he won’t become a better manager until he accepts his limitations, which it’s clear from this interview that he hasn’t.

He mentioned a few times how things had improved since IE left, hope he was in the studio squirming.

2nd favourite for Wigin job.

I know the consensus is he should take some time away, but the longer it goes that we look like one of the best teams in the league, the lower his stock drops.

He'd be better off jumping straight in to something at this level otherwise he'll have to be starting all over again at League 2 or lower.

Our game at there place will be really spicy if he does.

Evatt’s claim that no other manager could get any more from the squad isn’t looking too clever right now.

And watching Amorim defending his 3-4-3 formation week after week is like dejavu

If you're a "world class" manager, you shouldn't be shackled to one formation, you play to your squads strength and if that means changing formation, then surely they should be able to adapt?

Whereas I hope he never works again.

You're obviously a much nicer, more forgiving person than me.

Strange isn't it.

If he wants to do that, at least have a look at what he's got, set up accordingly, and look to reshape in the summer.

It's weird.

Ah, yes, but if he gets that job and takes them down, it might well be the final nail in his managerial coffin and it also flushes the turd.

As much as that sounds decent, I'd rather he get the job, we thrash them at their place and go up.

If they stayed up or went down; meh, we'd be rid of them anyway.

Ian in his new job
