If there’s someone who should be trained to show restraint (where necessary) in high tense situations, it’s a guy carrying a gun in public.

Correct. The guys attacking the police should get the book thrown at them. But that doesn’t mean the copper shouldn’t also face the consequences of his actions. If the criminal investigation into him says he’s nothing to answer, fair enough. Due process.

The copper after the first boot looks like he’s then fidgeting with his taser, you can clearly see when he moves over to the other guy that he has his taser in his right hand and something else in his left. He then goes over to the other guy and instead of tasing him he uses the taser to hit him. Again straight after that you can see him fidgeting away. I reckon the taser is fucked and it would make perfect sense as to why he did what he did .

You're just imagining or guessing stuff now, something you accused others of earlier.

So we now have what seems like 66% of the story.

The 'victims' appear to be guilty of very serious assault on the Police along with resisting arrest. 
 

The copper seems to have lost control and the stamp to the head will IMO see him on similar charges to the 'victims'. 

However we have still not seen or had it confirmed why the 'victims' were being arrested in the first place. Their reaction was not one of someone who was surprised to be confronted. Their reaction was more OTT than the copper. 
 

If the copper can produce a credible reason why he stuck the boot in, rather than taser (maybe close presence of mother) and he considered it a credible threat can see a way out of it for him.

The saddest issue is that there are once again 2 'sides' in this again and neither will be happy until the other 'side' is punished. 
 

I mean the sides as the extremes using this for political gain btw not folk on here.

There is no need to pull out a gun and shoot the bloke and he will be trained not to do so. So I don’t see it as him showing some great level of restraint that he didn’t.

The copper is also trained to make sure that the threat to the public has been removed/stopped maybe he thought he was still a threat

I think it is another copper that tasers the guy. One of the women he had just been hitting. The copper might taser the lad who is sat down that had been attacking him just before.

There is a lot more mitigation for the coppers action based on the video than for the 'victims'.
