  1. Need another goalkeeper in a squad of 25.
  2. If you were Wenger why would you decide the 3rd week in July rather than 3rd week in August? If it's to be decided this week it will be a no. But what do the BEN know?
  3. I can't see it either, but OC does have connections with the ROI and could have been there watching.
  4. Scored the second goal in South Korea's 2-0 win over Ecuador in World Cup warm up game. It was a good one around 9mins 15 secs on this clip. LEE GOAL Hope he gets out of Seoul before the first missile hits.
  5. Good insight into cost of loan players: Pompey paying Spurs ?250k every 3 months for O'Hara, presumably plus his wages and other fees and bonuses. Burnley paying Pompey ?132k every month for Nugent.
  6. Other way round isn't it. Obadeyi can't even get in their team. Who else can we off load to them/ Good luck Rochdale.
  7. Fair play to Pulis on MOTD. Said we (OC) were due some luck and took it on the chin.
  8. Thought we created 3 or 4 good chances, but can't put the ball in the net. Spurs do sweet fa and score 2. Jussi was poor but to be fiar to him Defoe was completely unmarked in front of him. Holden's been involved and tidy, Taylor fair, Cohen invisible.
  9. Speedy recovery Gary. O'Brien and Steinsson both trained today. We've still got 7 first team defenders left plus Basham, so not quite at the stage of recalling Nicky Hunt. The're all paid good money to come in and take their chance when someone is injured. Owen just needs to find the best combination.
  10. Supposedly out of contract in the summer, so don't think we will be seeing his best.
  11. Turned it down. Time to get rid, I understand he is out of contract in the summer but we can still demand a fee as he is under 24 - dream on! Big clear out needed by OC this summer, Harsayni also taking good money for little in return.
  12. Highways Agency has had extra money this year as part of the Government's Fiscal Stimulus for Motorway work. A lot of extra improvement schemes have taken place in 09/10 and will continue through to End Of March.
  13. They have had it all marked up in bays since before xmas and indicated some areas where no parking is allowed. But it is still full of potholes.
  14. Klasnic hasn't scored in 6 games and does he work hard enough. Is he fit anyway? Might be Elmander if/when he gets his confidence back. Nicholas anelka's moved on. So that leaves Davies. To be honest I think we still need his physical presence.
  15. Pre Season friendlies I know, but happy to have some of this. Hope he starts tomorrow in a 5 man midfield playing behind Davies
  16. Had a few other chances first half. Second half little to see - Taylor running in front of Elmander's strike on goal and Jansen's save from Elmander. Burnley created nowt.
  17. Fair play to He Who Must Not Be Named for signing Cahill. As has been said before his record in the transfer market was generally good until his defensive spending spree last summer. Big Sam signed some absolute gems but he did have a hit rate of about 1 in 20 on signings.
  18. Net debt increased to ?64m against ?53m in 2008.
  19. I'm old enough, like everyone spent the whole of the summer trying to copy it. Think it was Willie Carr who took the free kick, looks a bit like Strachan, but think he was only the manager at Coventry and never played for them.
  20. BWFC site says he was on loan to QPR and now on loan to Watford!
  21. Still on the Wolves Official site and described as: Centre back or full back who is an under-17 international with the Republic of Ireland. Strong defender who is hard in the tackle and has good potential. Played for Ireland in the European-under-17 championships held in Turkey in May, 2008.
  22. Brilliant night, it kicked off in the Prince Rupert after the game as well, as even in those days there were plenty of manc fans living in Bolton, and the Manager was a manc. Also went to the return game the following April to see the 2-1 win, from memory Frankie scored both goals that night.
  23. I was there, have the programme somewhere. Also went to the testimonial cricket match held at Burnden Park with Clive Lloyd flicking sixes into the Manny Road Car park.
  24. SOURCE LIVERPOOL FC Goals from Nathan Eccleston, David Amoo and Steven Irwin (2) did the damage as the Reds came from behind to seal victory after Daniel Ward had stunned the home support with a sensational opener. The visitors reduced the arrears with a second-half Chris Stokes penalty before Irwin's second of the game late on ensured the young guns of progress. It means Hughie McAuley's men will now meet Ipswich Town, Watford or Birmingham City in the last four of a competition they will have high hopes of winning for the fourth time in our history. Going into the clash the Reds showed no signs of any pre-match nerves and could have been ahead inside the opening minute but Alex Kacaniklic could only guide his header wide after a rampaging run and cross from Amoo down the right. The visitors responded and gave a cameo of their attacking intentions when Ward volleyed well over from 25 yards. It would serve as a warning of what was to follow, and after Dalla Valle glanced a header inches wide of the far post the away side took the lead. A corner from the right was only partially cleared to the edge of the area, allowing Ward the time to weigh up the volley before unleashing a magnificent effort into the Kop end net on 16 minutes. The goal seemed to knock the confidence out of Hugh McAuley's young guns and Aaron Mooy missed a glorious chance to put Bolton two ahead when he blazed over from Michael O'Halloran's right-wing cross. Liverpool needed a flash of inspiration and got it on 25 minutes when Nathan Eccleston broke free on the left hand side of the Bolton defence and raced through on goal before coolly slipping the ball beyond Tom Brocklehurst to level the scores. With normal service resumed the hosts set about putting the game beyond Bolton before half-time and took the lead just past the half hour mark when Amoo powered home. The exciting winger fought off the attentions of his marker to meet Chris Buchtmann's pinpoint cross and follow up his winner against Chelsea in the previous round with another Anfield strike. If Amoo's joyous celebrations helped warm up the expectant the Anfield crowd, then Irwin went one better when he produced a series of flips after heading home a third from Eccleston's 42nd minute cross. The confidence of the Liverpool players was there for all to see and Adam Pepper almost created a sensation when his Xabi Alonso-style effort from the halfway line was well stopped by the keeper. It looked like a case of job done going into the interval, but Bolton fought back and after Matthew Carlisle fired just over from a tight angle, they were handed a lifeline when Joe Kennedy brought down Michael O'Halloran in the penalty area on 52 minutes. Up stepped skipper Stokes who showed great composure to fire the ball beyond Dean Bouzanis into the left-hand corner of the net. There were more than a few anxious faces inside Anfield at this point and just past the hour mark it could have been all-square but Bouzanis pulled off a miracle save to keep out Ward's sweet turn and shot. It proved to be a crucial moment in the match as the Reds made sure of victory 12 minutes from time when Irwin grabbed his second with a sublime run and shot into the top corner of the Kop end net. Bolton Wanderers under 18s: Tom Brocklehurst, Joseph Riley, Matthew Carlisle, Rhys Bennett, Chris Stokes (George Pawley 80), Grant Spencer (Stuart McDonald 46), Maison McGeechan (Tom Eckersley 83), Adam Blakeman, Daniel Ward, Aaron Mooy, Michael O'Halloran. Unused subs: Jay Lynch, Javlon Campbell.
