Bernardo Silva now being tipped to join the likes on Ronaldo, Kante and many others. I get older players going but if Silva was to sign for a Saudi club then thats a bit of a game changer as he’s only 28.

Can you knock someone for wanting more money in a career that only has a short lifespan?

Money talks and if they can get the names it will grow. I can’t see there being much interest in it from Europe but the Asia and Middle East markets are a different matter

He has already moved to one wank club that won the lottery so why not a Saudi club for more money

Why would any of them turn it down. Mega millions and made for life. Yes prem money is big but these boys will have expensive tastes and that costs. You need to maximise your pot before retiring

Isn't Ruben Neves going at 26?

Big overhaul due for City.

Apparently he could be loaned back to Newcastle

PIF are fully in bed with Chelsea so no surprise a host of gone from there to Saudi

They already host all the big boxing fights

And they've recently just pretty much bought golf

Messi turned down £400m per year apparently

Maybe it's me but if you're already earning more money than you could spend in your lifetime, say £200k pw then money becomes irrelevant. Unless of course your planning space missions or funding a war.

Messi at the end of his career and has way more than enough and brand presence to sustain his life.

Younger lads getting enough to say fuck it... I'm guaranteed a win here with 3 years in a desert farmers league kick about.

Or take shit loads less and risk a preseason friendly against Newport leg break.

I don't blame the players.

It's fucking shit for the sport.

It can only work with a great deal of Global TV. There's only so much interest ... or time ... to watch. Personally I can't get into a TV game if I don't care either way.

It could, ultimately, reduce the money for Sky to spend.

We should all be bothered by dodgy oil rich dictatorships with questionable human rights records being a major player in football.

...and a little island off the coast of Europe built on colonialism, slavery and exploitation of the poor run by offshore billionaires being knocked off it's perch as the major player? Tough one to call TBH.

Football stinks of corruption at the top level, these are just adding a bit more into the mix.

One in the eye for them premier league. No doubt it will affect all clubs in time though. Prem becomes worth less to the TV tycoons, less gets trickled down.

Clubs need to get their houses in order now

It's not remotely a tough one to call, though, is it?

My mate works in Saudi on the Neom project.

A bit like us trying to get our heads around how big the universe is, its pretty hard to grasp how much money these people have.

Hes currently on a project with Ski Resorts and Eco-trains ploughed through the sides out mountains all built without roads.

They want their oily fingers cleaned up and into the western world sharpish.

Money talks.

Premier league getting all excited about this makes me laugh. No one was upset when they were cherry picking europes leagues. Neves signing for Wolves I imagine was a boyhood dream come true just as much as the Saudi project is.

Football sold its soul a long time ago at the top level and it reaps what it sews.

Neville the biggest hypocrite in football struck gold again suggesting Transfers should be stopped to Saudi but welcomes the Qatari bid at his mediocre club. Laughable.

Aye there is some major hypocrisy here. Saudis are about to blow PL/sky out of the water rather like they have done in golf. In the end money talks. I suppose it will make the European league become more likely now as Premier League teams will join forces with European elite.
