Williams reaped the rewards of direct attacking football on Saturday- running at defenders and getting his shots off instead of getting wide and then playing it back again or trying to tip tap it through a packed defence.

It was a very refreshing half hour of aggressive attack with no messing about.

I think Evatt deserves some credit for his tactics today. He knew they are a big team and perhaps expected more balls in the box than we got until the end, but moving around all those players into positions they don’t usually occupy to match up specific threats worked a treat apart from that dodgy spell.

Good first half for an away performance, got our two goals & restricted them to nothing much all half. Expected us to be the crap version of us when we came back out for the second half as we've done in nearly every single one of our matches in recent months but over the moon with the cojones we showed to restore proceedings. Players like Paris who was getting on the half turn driving at the defence & fingers crossed Mendes when he's ready are types we need in the XI, technical players who have some individual quality with a bit of magic to commit defenders & make us less predictable. Well done lads, close that gap

Had that comeback to 2-2 been maintained, or worse improved upon, the fan base, including me, would have been apoplectic.

The issue of our playing matches of two halves, not killing games off, changing a winning process etc. , etc., would have been the focus.

Hey, we did & they didn't  & we aren't but that last 10 minutes saved a lot of angst.

In less than a 1/3 of the season we have already conceded half of the goals we scored last season.

Evatt out - Toxic

We’re also the 2nd highest scorers in the league - which was a massive surprise to me.

Their first goal last night started from big vics comedy control of a football on the half way line,  I dont get how his 2nd touch is still a tackle and how for the size of him he gets pushed off the ball.  Surely he practices controlling a pass.

The Lad is so frustrating and could be so much better.

I haven’t watched it back, so could be wrong, but I remember thinking at the time that he actually did the initial part of it well and got it under control when it first came into him, but then rather than laying it off straight away he to tried to do too much with it and then lost it in the second phase. He might argue that there wasn’t enough support around him to give it straight away but I think both him and Dion need to learn to just keep it simple - Dion especially is horrendous at keeping hold of the ball if it’s with him for more than about 3 seconds.

Vic’s doing alright for me - his last few games and the first half of yesterday have been his best but he struggled (like the rest of the team did) when we came under pressure in the second half. Neither him or Charles are perfect, but I think they’re more than good enough to be at the top end of this league.

First half was an absolute top drawer away performance.

Once it went to 2-1, the equaliser looked an absolute inevitability and Evatt really has to take that on board when you throw in how similar it was on Saturday.

To somehow then go straight up the other end and go back in front shows absolutely tremendous character - something we’ve been accused of quite a bit over the last few days, me included - and then to go as far as wrapping it up with a fourth was fantastic.

6 from 6, same again on Saturday please but hopefully a bit simpler this time!

Good to see plenty of folk off here, wasn’t a pleasant journey back with the lane closures so only got home at 2.15am.

For some reason it’s apparently a good idea to actually plan to get home from Shrewsbury at a similar time having organised a pick up from the airport 😂
