Just let em in our fanzone. Not like it's the king bill is it.

in this league this would be fine. no problem with letting fans of clubs who bring no more than 500 into the fanzone, there'd be no issues at all. If we go up and play someone like Leeds it probably wouldn't be the best idea

Why can't we do what Derby have done and just have kiosks scattered around the outside of the stadium that sell beer and other drinks and food? I always thought it had to be some kind of designated zone, but outside pride park I went down to one of them and grabbed a beer while stood outside the ground.

We've actually got a nice set up for that with a big circular concrete area all around the stadium, so that could be the designated zone.

Seems the best solution to me.

The problem with an Away fans area is that it has to be big enough to covers its costs which for most followings would be a struggle.

For the bigger away followings imagine there would be policing issues.

Wycombe had a bar and bar bq area which is ok when we went there, but only cos I was driving , can not imagine using one otherwise , did at Lincoln last season but again cos was driving. The places that do this tend to have fuck all in ground at this level.

They can always just go in ground and have a drink. I am in the 'fuck em' camp.

Can’t see it being that expensive to have one. We need a bigger one for home fans as it is. Hard work trying to get in and serviced. Always big queues if it isn’t pissing down

There are now plenty of licenced bars around the ground. To my knowledge; and I haven’t been for a couple of seasons, the only designated home-only pubs where tickets get checked are Harvester and Whites Hotel.
I don’t think places like Nam Ploy could host too many away fans due to number of home fans in there pre and post match but my point is, nobody checks. And more importantly, nobody’s arsed.

Overheads will outweigh imo plus do we want away fans having a good time getting rowdy & lording it up

Why would you not want people to enjoy the trip? We’d moan like fuck coming the Reebok

I wouldnt drink near the ground

Bolton or Manc

Just like a London away

Anyway, for me its not about em having a good time, just makes no business sense

Because it will become a place overtime where away fans will take the piss, Imagine local derbies & clubs who get rowdy like Leeds etc

What is strange is that if away fans are heading to Wigan , loads stop off in Westhoughton.

But very few coming to our humble abode bother with Westhoughton.

It's weird.

That’s all well and good when transport works which it doesn’t

I can't see much in the way of overheads for kiosks scattered around outside the stadium. Close them for games that will be quiet.

In favour of anything to create a day out atmosphere, rather than rush in and out. The fanzone is way too small.

Drinking in central London is fine as it's usually piss easy to get to the ground

Public transport in and around Bolton says otherwise

Yep and if it’s a cheltenham type club that’s when it won’t become cost effective, bigger following more security etc

let’s cater for home fans first as everywhere is heaving

Yes, it would have to be a week by week decision. To be honest the bar staff at our FZ couldn't cope in an away end with potentially shorter fused and already primed away fans.

Fanzone

Sushma Snacks been booted out as each pitch goes to tender ?

Not great for a community based club trying to help local businesses.

How have they been 'booted out'? If another business puts in a higher bid, they tend to get the job.

Dunno , just going off what ive seen on social media . I agree if its local . but if its a weatherspoons bar , for example it doesnt look great . Just asking if anyone knows more than me. (which is not a lot obvs)

They made a post about how heart broken they are to have to take their shed down or some such .

Maybe you should ask these questions before making angry statements?

I did put a question mark in my initial statement / question .  thought that was enough to imply .

From what I understand, though happy to be corrected, Wanderers are putting in their own units.

Therefore, existing units have to be removed, like this snack shed.

The units are then put out to tender, so if their tender is accepted,  they'll still be in but in the newly built Wanderers unit.
