As the rest of the players set off on their clap of the fans around the pitch, he ignored everyone and walked straight down the tunnel on his own. Time for Forino, I think. The other thing I’d do would be to give Matheson the remaining squad place and replace Cogley. Didn’t see him walk down the tunnel, but IE had his arm round him and was talking to him at the end, looks a shadow of himself. A few games out of the team may do him good. Quote
CambridgeBWFC Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 There was less infighting last week after a 4-0 loss. Boooooo Evatt out! Quote

Rizlar Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Santos needs a rest he just looks like he’s got no confidence give Forino a go. Quote

Wrong side a good 2-3 times and if he'd have grabbed that lad like he was going to it would have been another pen. Quote
FrancisFogarty Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Who'd have thought, you come out fighting, get the ball up the field, pressure the opposition and you score 5 ? Quote

Everyone at the club has tried to be positive this week , I guess and rightly so he’s seen it as a massive negative. Maybe the cup tie this week will bring out the best in him. Quote

Key is bloody scoring in that period then not wilting like a flower when we take one on the nose. Aye, it's about not looking lost when it's not going to plan There's nothing this season in any game I've not seen before under Evatt I've never thought that evatt has lost the dressing room It's become apparent they disappear when they aren't allowed to do what he tells them to Quote

MOM was between Vic and GT for me, GT thoroughly deserved the captain role and he thrived with it today. Still worrying is the amount of chances other teams are creating, we can get away with it when we bag 5 however I won’t let that ruin my night. Shit to see the Evatt out banner in the NSL, hopefully they got told. There would have been “fans” in there today desperate for us to lose, well unlucky you knobs! And to all those staying away until Evatt has gone, good. The club doesn’t need those types It was close to us, a bloke , teenage son & a kid, maybe another bloke, not the sharpest looking tools. There was little reaction either way to them, but each time Bolton scored they remained seated, someone asked them if they were happy, they sat through half time but left straight after & didn't return. Pitiful. Quote

mickbrown Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 (edited) My favourite bit was lads chucking themselves in the lead up to Sheehan’s free kick. Edited September 21, 2024 by mickbrown Quote

bolton va va Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Still scary a few times in defence, I thought Reading were quite lively going forward but a bit of a shambles defensively, but there was no doubting the effort all our players put in. GT & GJ both battled for everything but i;d give Vic the MOTM, he can still be clumsy but we're nearly always seem to be a better team when he plays.....& Charles seems to benefit from his presence !! frank_spencer Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Negativity round here and on GMR post match you'd think we lost 5-2. There was issues in today's performance some of them the same as we've had in recent times. But the same 11 should be starting at Crawley next week. Winning by a 3 goal margin doesn't need big changes. Quote

Dr. Feelgood Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Looks like Santos is sulking. I get that having the captaincy removes ,& given to someone else may be embarrassing but he should see it as a positive. He's not suited it and it's weighed him down. This is his chance to refocus & recover his game. He's maybe allowed one sulk (as a Pro, really he isn't) but has to move on, or ship out. In fact, in an awful Catch 22, if he doesn't then he's proven the decision to be correct. Quote

Evatt pretty much said as much post match. He's now not captain (at least for the time being) to take him out of that limelight and toys have been thrown out the pram, or at least that's the way it looked. I think he needs a few games out to reset. Forino looks more than capable of playing that role to me. Quote
