deeane Koontz Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Just hope Evatt doesn't run his gob off in the post match interviews now Quote

Enjoy it, great to get 3 points but we are not in a ‘I told you so’ situation yet. 5 wins and I’m happy to readdress obvs😂 Not saying that pal. As I said still on our knees and very much up against it with another punch at any time soon which could prove to be too much. But what I am absolutely saying, is now is not a time to give up and stop going.and supporting Quote

Dimron Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Full marks to the manager... back to the wall, he dug in and got a good result. Shows he still wants it Quote
Rizlar Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Good result so Craddock was to blame 🫣 Quote
1969 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 I've slated IE before so it's only fair to give him praise today,we had to win and we did.Still a long way to go to get the fans back on side but it's a start Quote
Arrested development Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Evatt made the right call to switch from 343 to 352. We played with variety, went long , went short. We had midfield runners. We did everything that we weren't doing in the last few games. Still some stuff to touch up on. Bit too open at times. Still look shaky defending crosses. But much better today. I'll take that. Quote
Popular Post auckland_bwfc Posted September 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 21, 2024 There is a footballer in Schon! It's apparent the players are behind Evatt. Fans should follow suit. On we go! Quote

gonzo Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Was it just me or did Dion not want to celebrate in front of ESL for his goals? Quote

tomski Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 A few things I saw today Johnston was MOM. He links well with Schon I don’t understand Arfield. If he was brought in as a wise old head, I’ve missed it. Collins blanked Victor on the substitution but ran over to Charles. Quote

Another panic signing for alot of money, and coudnt tackle a sunday dinner. Poor signing, nothing new for Evatt that tho. Won 5-2 happy for all the faithfulls today who backed them to the hilt today. FrancisFogarty Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Much better all round. Fans and players look to be playing for him. See how it goes next week. Quote
Eddie Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Wasn’t there due to being away but managed to watch online. Intensity was there from the off. Said it during the match but the slightly naughty tackle from GJ set the tone in the first minute - I thought he was immense throughout. Change in system worked wonders and having Vic and Charles as your 2 up front meant that we could play balls into the channels and they were willing runners which got us up the pitch fast, with Matete / GT getting up and around them to support. Vic was quality. He was a man on a mission to prove himself and in my opinion he really did. He offers something none of the others do and although not perfect, I think he’s well worth the starting spot. JDC looked more like his first half of last season form, Schon was solid enough, Dempsey a great cameo. 1 negative really and it’s Santos. He looked pedestrian, got caught on the ball a few times, picked up a yellow cause he was too slow and just generally looks like half the player he can be. Now he’s not captain I think he’s easier to drop and on his current form I think Forino should be given a shot. In isolation it’s a great win. I wish I could be more enthused and think that it’s the start of our season but you just know that in our next big game the same old problems will reappear. Still a great 3 points though and you can’t be disappointed with that (and 5 goals)! Quote

Duck Egg Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Just a mention of that save from Baxter in the first half. Gordon Banks esque that! George J was great. Vic MotM. Lovely stuff. Quote

Popular Post royal white Posted September 21, 2024 Popular Post Posted September 21, 2024 Well I enjoyed that. MOM was between Vic and GT for me, GT thoroughly deserved the captain role and he thrived with it today. Still worrying is the amount of chances other teams are creating, we can get away with it when we bag 5 however I won’t let that ruin my night. Shit to see the Evatt out banner in the NSL, hopefully they got told. There would have been “fans” in there today desperate for us to lose, well unlucky you knobs! And to all those staying away until Evatt has gone, good. The club doesn’t need those types Quote

I’m neither for him or against him at the moment, so I’m certainly not his cheerleader… he put about 5 tackles in in the first 15 minutes that were decent so id say your comment on his tackling ability is slightly harsh Quote
