  • That was pathetic, abject, depressing, slow, inept, cowardly, and utterly humiliating. I'm one of the so-called "happy clappers", but it's clearly time for a refresh.

When a manager is under pressure and debate is raging about him there’s always A defining moment when everyone agrees it’s time to put an end to it. Today was that moment.   anything that comes

  • They simply have to pull the trigger now. A new manager coming in at this point has plenty of time and a decent amount of points on the board to build a promotion charge. We should be right

Tactics, formation, attitude, urgency all shit. The players have let everyone including themselves down today.

The manager has to take responsibility though for this seasons bizarre formations and change in tactics.

Time to go.

There's only McAtee for me that could come anywhere near to getting any kind of credit today. At least he put a shift in.

Agreed. Never shied away from the ball.

He’s one of a few that are being played out of their regular position.

So much to say.

Not overly fussed about the Wigan rivalry myself, but that performance wasn’t drastically different to Blackpool at home or Mansfield at home. We’re just so disjointed.

Not going to call out individual players. As a group they can only play to the system they’re given and instructed to play. There are attitude issues within that squad and the culture Evatt spoke about after Stockport hasn’t improved. Some are going through the motions.

Evatt over thought things post Oxford and it’s not worked out. His squad is imbalanced and he’s so far inside the problem now he can’t see out. Sheehan, Dempsey and Toal will all help but, lets be honest, by the time they come back, a couple of others will be injured.

2 more suspended for Friday I think too.

I don’t think he’s ’lost the squad’ or anything like that. It’s just gone wrong and he can’t fix it. He’s been a big part of our revival to this point and deserves credit for that, certainly not personal abuse. Many parallels with Phil Neal. It’s now time for someone new to come in and pull us up to the next level.

Our board are loyal, and that’s a good trait. I’d be amazed if there isn’t a ‘mutual agreement’ statement out in the next 24 hours.

Thanks Ian. Enjoy your break.

Oh, and anyone who wants Big Sam back, it ain’t happening. Nor should it.

As always Bell's, a calm and rational post. I can't help but agree with almost everything you point out. The verbal abuse towards evatt is a gradual process which starts with mumbling of dissatisfaction which multiply with each frustrating performance and infuriating scoreline. Imo his credibility is very nearly none existent and any receipts that he has are already spent. Does he still have Sharon's backing?

If Sharon hasn't got the message now then things are going to have to go very, very toxic. Not just on here, but properly toxic - like it did for Megson, Freedman, Neal etc. Crowds will have to diminish. It pains me to have to write all this. Our gates have been fabulous, just unbelievable in the context of the club's history post the 1950s. Maybe that's partially why we are seeing this paralysis from the boardroom. They can say what they want but we're being taken for granted. To be so gratuitously stubborn in the face of all reason only happens when groupthink is occurring and when there's a disconnect with reality. That reality needs hammering home and the boardroom needs a cold, hard dose of reality.

.... and yes I know they saved us from oblivion.

Not sure where to start with all that but here goes.

Expected a struggle when I saw it was a 2 man midfield again, we've been easy to play through all season with it.

Was clear after 5 minutes we weren't going anywhere, their press comfortably stopped us playing out because their players were fast enough and fit enough to close us down easily.

(Seen a couple of posts mentioning the athleticism and fitness thing, not the first time it's happened to us this season)

As has been pointed out, no use singling out any individual,  we were saying at half time that they were all playing bad.

Needed to take one of the chances when we had our spell but once we didn't, it was inevitable they'd come back into the game.

A neutral would've assumed we were the team near the bottom and Wigan were knocking on the playoffs.

They were far better than us in every expect of the game.

Seen them use the same tactic against us for a while now, diagonals at our wing backs and get men around to win the second ball.

Pretty simple stuff but, well,  it works against us 🤷‍♂️.

Not sure where we go from here.

He has to leave, doesn't he ?

“They hurt me more than most.”.

I wouldn’t bet on it Ian. There are 20 odd thousand not very happy.

Can’t afford to play 45 minutes like that in a game like this.

Nonsense to say none of our players could play in the Championship. There’s a few who could.

It’s on Evatt this. Every fckn time. Embarrassing for the fans.

Shame our board is weak as piss. He’ll be going nowhere before May.

I'll give you Santos, possibly Baxter (even on a bad day Santos again our least bad player IMO).  Surely not one other would be classed as championship standard?

We only have one centre half available for the Wycombe game; we will get battered

Forrester, Jones and Cogley will be the CBs

Honestly don’t know mate.

But she ain’t daft, and it’s not really her decision. She’s just been his biggest supporter and after the Huddersfield game dug her feet in for him.

I imagine today is a step too far for the investors / MJ even if she’s not keen to remove him.

Guy needs putting out of his misery. Allardyce, Todd and Rioch don't lose 0-10 against this lot over three legs, ever.

Still, 60% possession.....

Strange how we see things differently. For me he did fuck all.

Same old, same old against these. A sluggish, disjointed  1st half from us while Wigin came out like men possessed & we were lucky to be only one down at h/t. A bit better in the 2nd half & created a few chances but they always looked capable of scoring another .

Both wing backs defensively poor & wasteful going forward, midfield anonymous not helped by the the ball being  launched aimlessly past them & the front 2 given no service & couldn't hold it when they did get it !!

No MOTM & no scapegoating....they were all poor. When he came on, Williams was the least worst.

A depressing day.

He’s unbelievably limited, but he’s clearly a grafter. If you want to get out of this league, he can’t be in your starting midfield, he’s not good enough on the ball but he also doesn’t make up for it with athleticism and size. Don’t get me wrong, he’s on a hiding to nothing in a midfield 2, but everyone acts like he’s turned into Gerrard since he decided not to go to Bristol and it’s bollocks, he’s improved but as he proved today, he can’t grab a game and control it and you need your centre mids to be able to do it. He’s also still a walking liability.

He wasn’t the worst today by the way, I could go on about them all, I just think most people are on the same page for the rest of them but GT gets off very lightly because of his “journey” with us.

Fair enough pal. I still think he's underrated by many and your post sort of proves it. Got nowt to do with him turning Bristol City down.

Anyway. He's the least of our problems.

Important to remember he’s sending this message to his employers as much as the fans. I wouldn’t overly judge him for it

As much as anything, I think he needs saving from himself at this point

I was wondering about that one... Sherpa Pizza Van Cup and got out of the bottom division on the last day and that's it

katchunga and Nlundulu  have both scored again today against Wrexham second week on the trot

I thought Tutu was decent tbf.

Scapegoat suggests it's unfair, but to point at someone responsible it's Evatt.

When there’s that many poor individual performances against a much weaker opposition the bulk of the blame has to go to the manager.

The formation we’re playing is absolute madness. It’s leaving us so exposed hence our dreadful defensive record.

Once again though, within the first 5 minutes of that game I think most of us knew what the result was going to be. So so predictable.

Genuinely thought we would dish out a beating today.....after 15 minutes we all knew.....

This is worse than the 0-4s because today we had the better players. But we're losing 0-10 over 3 legs at home to wigan. And they've been trash most of this season.

What stood out today and maybe some clever virgin can make up a new stat past XG was how many mistakes we made, shit passes, tackles, blocking space....everything

We where dog shit. Credit to wigan, they out played us all 90 minutes. Watched them last week lose easily to Orient. Today they rocked up and bummed us. Sick of it

I don't know how anyone could watch that and claim we had the better players

None of that today was Victor's fault whatsoever.

He's not bloody Kevin Davies.

The problem was us getting pressed to death and having no idea what to do it. Then pumping it up to Vic who had two defenders crawling over him.

Why don't we talk about Dion who couldn't trap a fucking fart and has a touch like the Yorkshire ripper?

Or any of the other shit cunts that bottled it?

GT, absolutely anonymous and played himself out of the game?

Johnstone, yards off the pace, leaving acres of space?

Both full backs taking 3 touches too many and turning inside?

There were loads more at fault than Vic today.

He's completely gone

Need toal back asap
