To be fair mate, there’ll always be players that don’t quite fit in any team, or that fall out of form and just need a fresh start.

It is a shame, because I think there’s a good player in there - whether it’s Evatt’s fault or Morley’s fault that it all went sour here I’m not sure, I’d imagine the answer is a bit of both. Plenty have pointed out that he was far from playing well when he got his chances last season. I’m glad he’s playing well now and proving what he can do, for him but also because it puts the club in a strong position (and that 3 year contract now looks like a wise move), my point was more that it looked like a clear sign from him as to what he wants the outcome to be.

Also, I’m not sure he’s happier to be playing for Wycombe than Bolton, I think he’s just happier to be playing than not and Wycombe were the club to offer him that chance. I reckon if you asked him would he rather be playing every game for a team at the top of the table and that team can be either Bolton or Wycombe, his answer would likely still be us - it’s just the way it’s played out for him and us.

Think that’s a little harsh, but could be viewed that way. Could also be viewed he’s happier playing for another manager who views his contribution as more valued? 
All conjecture of course, but I’m sure most would be the same.

I’m not one of those hindsight claimers  about him becoming the next Pirlo and how we should never have let him go etc.

As you quite rationally point out he deservedly wasn’t getting in our side at the time and hopefully that contract proves fruitful in some way.

It just seems when things are shit there’s more shit just round the corner waiting for you. 

I think it speaks volumes that I would rather have Morley without Evatt at the club than the other way around.

Good point Eddie but couldn’t we say exactly the same thing about others like Collins, Dion, Geth, George and JDC, in fact all of them in reality so is it likely that they have all regressed on their own like Morley or is there one catalyst to them all? For me it’s Evatt and until he’s gone I don’t believe any of our players, including Morley if he comes back will ever recover their former level.

One of the reasons Morley's performances dropped is because he became a victim of the bingo machine. Apart from Santos and Baxter, we don't have anyone who's guaranteed to start if they're fit and available. I know there's 'squad rotation', but we just seem to chop and change every week for the sake of it. How is anybody supposed to build any sort of form, momentum and confidence if they know they're probably getting dropped next game anyway? It's ridiculous.

I might be wrong but in my mind the bingo machine has only been in operation this season 

Last season was pretty settled for the most part in the league

Morley just fell down the pecking order

I'd rather we bought in someone of higher quality than Aaron Morley to aid our midfield creativity issues.

We don't need an enforcer when we've got GT and Matete more than capable of breaking up play.

We need Paris back.

Unfortunately he came on as a sub for Brentford against arsenal last night so I think he'll be staying there

Paris won't be coming back to the 3rd division

I wonder if Morley coming back from a different camp, a different management style, different training etc. will have an impact. Will he tell the other players what the difference is between a team at the top of the league is and a team in 10th? Or will he keep quiet and tow the line to keep onside with the man who picks the team?

A part of me still wonders whether Evatt actually wants Morley back, or if it’s just to pressurise Wycombe into making a cash bid that meets the club’s valuation.  Perhaps the position has changed following Dempsey’s latest injury setback.

We had to bring morley back in a purely political move. If he breaks into the team and makes a difference (and why shouldn't he) that's a bonus. 

Any other player, playing like he has, in a team at the top and we would all be over the moon at getting them in. 

When do you ever hear of teams loaning out squad players to a team that performs better, and that player becomes a huge part of that success.

fair point, but in George's case it usually ends in a free kick and a yellow 

Personally, I couldn't give a shit about how happy Morley is about coming back. He can sit on the bench or play for the B team for the rest of the season rather than help Wycombe, unless they're willing to splash the cash.

Evatt will not like being shown to be wrong. 

He'll not like that Morley going to Wycombe shows he wasn't getting the best out of him. 

He'll not like that trying squad rotation without proper training regimes will never work
