Results will eventually be the managers undoing.

It's the only true barometer.

He's always got out of jail with a decent run here or there. We've always found a way to beat those around us and the big occasion was always our downfall.

Those runs and wins are becoming less frequent now and it looks like it's only going to get worse.

I've no idea what the board were thinking giving him money to spend with us in such a perilous position and bad feeling about the place.

Keep on losing and he's gone. Sooner rather than later it would seem.

"I'm more than willing to take responsibility for my part, but it's not me out there not competing. It's not me out there not running. It's not me out there losing duels and losing second balls, or misplaced passing. That's not down to the manager."

😬

Just listened to that. He contradicts everything he says. Even the pen he doesn’t see then argues it. What a prat

Just listened to Evatt's post-match interview blaming the players. "Changing me isn't going to help. It'll be the same players out there". I get his point, but this can't go on much longer. Maybe they're playing shit because of the way they're being managed? Be that in training, conditioning, tactics, mentality, whatever.

Jesus. What a thing to say! If I was a player and heard that I'd be absolutely fuming!

A few things Dion's passes have set up 2 of the last 3 goals.

Morley after being in contention for being in the League 1 team of the season, has come back and looks average.

IE sounding more and more delusional as time goes on, he can't survive this surely?

They were fucking shit though. If I was a player, I'd be ashamed after that performance regardless of the managers input.

All his players bar Thomason

And nearly every one of them signed by Evatt. That’s why he cannot be allowed to recruit any more.

He can't survive that rant, surely he couldn't possibly expect to walk into that dressing room or on that training ground (when he can be bothered to make the trip), surrounded by an entire squad of players that he alone has assembled and expect them to respond to a single word he has to say now.

The board allowing him to start the season was a mistake, him not then being let go after 10 games was an embarrassment but this, this has become a trainwreck.

It needs to end. Tonight.

He should have gone after Wembley but he isn’t blameless the players are bottlers and sulkers you only have to look at santos at the start of the season they can fuck off as well

or maybe it would but sadly while Sharon is in charge her pet project stays.

Can’t argue with him calling the players out they are mentally weak , selfish, lazy cunts

Why's it taken so long. I've been saying for weeks the players have been the main problem. Not that Evatt is blameless.

Look, players especially at this level, will make individual errors. We have a number of them that are talented enough for any squad in this division, and some players that I'm certain would do a job for temas in the bottom 3rd of the division above.

What they can't do is overcome the way a manager is asking them to play, on a formation that he has instructed them to do it in and with patterns of play that they in theory will have been working on every single day for the last few years.

The systemic mentality and defensive issues in this team aren't there purely because the players are a bit shit. Shitter players have done far more in this league than this group ever have managed.

That lies squarely on the manager, and the fact he won't ever even contemplate that as a reality is just one of many reasons why he has to go.

He analysis them, he recruits them, he signs them, he trains them, he gives them tactics, he plays them. Whilst he can’t control what they do every second of every game he’s just as accountable as the players are. He’s been allowed to build arguably the deepest squad in the league with highly likely the 2nd biggest budget based on spend. How he can continue to deflect whilst still expecting the players to buy in is mind bending

They were shit. And they have been shit for most of the past 12 months.

I suspect most of them follow his instructions to the letter though - and that would gall me as a player. He's set them up to fail. So he needs to take the responsibility. Sorry. Maybe that's the manager in me?

Agree Charles should be starting. He missed a sitter & maybe a half chance plus created our goal . Not at his best but yes he does at least put himself about unlike Collins who struggles physically.  Metette’s absence in a game against Rotherham is a real head stratcher .

Schon & Morley were ok , Williams had a nightmare & should have been pulled at HT & Cogley in preference to Tutu as sub when chasing the game is unbelievable.

My pet hate is still happening ie not covering the edge of our penalty area at corners.Their guy had oceans of space to hit the ball & a more accurate shot would have been another giveaway goal.

Yes, if it had gone in it would have been dismissed as a worldy of a finish, or lucky if it had taken a deflection, rather than the gifting of a free shot from the edge of the box and rank bad defensive organisation.

It’s amazing people are still arguing this
