Writing a guy off after one game is classic Bolton fans. Especially when we have hoofed it all game and barely passed him the ball. Give the guy a chance FFS.

Need to win the battle first.

Matete must be really fucked off.

Is he deliberately trying to keep us in league one?

Can see nothing whatsoever to justify this relentless mediocrity.

If we are going to keep playing out from the back, they need to work on beating the press in training. They didn't beat it once today which was partly the cause of all the hoofball. It's embarrassing that for a manager like Evatt who hangs his hat on playing out from the back that it's breaking down so easily.

Rotherham hoofed it more than we did, Matete would of made no difference, ball would of been going over his head like every other midfielder.

Yep. Football kept simple.

Everyone can see what/who the problem is at this football club. Everyone except those inside the groupthink bubble in the boardroom. As such they are also deeply culpable.

Dark days like today are what we need to get rid of him. We should not have to be put through this as fans when we can all see the patently obvious. Our board need a long hard look at themselves.

I hate having to say stuff like this. I hate Saturdays being the non-event that they are just now. But we know what we're on about and the board just don't. They can't otherwise this clown would not still be in a job. What other conclusion is there to draw?

I assume you won't be buying a Season Ticket for 25/26... that's the only thing that they will take notice of

Precisely. We're not even particularly good at what we're supposed to be particularly good at.

I could live with the fuck ups if moving the ball around at the back meant we made more clear cut chances by moving the opposition around. But most of our chances seem to be coming from accidentally finding ourselves on the break as opposed to intricacies.

Can't wait for Evatt's post match interview. He'll probably say the turning point was Dion's miss.

It was for me in the end.

Unless we’re selling Morley or Sheehan for a lot more than we have bought him for it seems an odd signing he isn’t exactly what we need with a limited budget

It's almost as if they are playing to get him sacked....

We got the ball into the Rotherham box for a few moves when our supporters were doing the go away Evatt stuff but overall our second half performance was a total disgrace... I actually don't mind losing but it's the way of losing that gets my back up

Winning second balls all the more imperative then.

It's clueless, predictable, bone-headed pig ignorance.

The board have wasted this season with sticking with Evatt and I can see the fans turning on them because there's no way are they going to sack him this season after the money that's been spunked away

Wasted the next several seasons and several million.

Honestly a really spineless and baffling decision keeping him.

Is there any manager out there that would want this job? I dunno who's available anymore

I suspect the only managers that would be interested would be those who want to play a similar system as there isn’t enough money to overhaul this squad - a squad that is lacking quality in several areas and is geared to trying to play a type of football that they consistently show they are not up to, although we do see the occasional flashes of it.

Solving the problem with these players is a dilemma and any manager would want to know where the potential is, but without a rock solid back six to build a team on options are limited.

Not sure the decision has anything to do with the club or our history.

Think there were a couple of other options. Players that at the time were in the starting XI for a start

But, not now

Who do you suggest?

In which case his comments about all the players being behind him was wrong.

He said he would leave if that was the case.

Which he won't.

Whatever the reality of the situation, its gone to rat shit and must be dealt with by the board.

Anyway, shit

Didnt deserve anything but who knows what happens in Charles scores

Who knows what happens if he starts or had the manager's backing or any confidence at all?

Lot of question marks every game at the minute, all stem back to the manager.

Indeed so.

Maybe it's the incredible support they've had that gives the board a false impression of how much latitude they've got. FV saved us and they've (to a large extent correctly) had kid glove treatment from the fanbase for much longer than any of their predecessors in the boadroom.  But they've now run out of road. They just don't yet realise it.

As a result of this head in the sand approach they are going to see an escalation of a side to the BWFC fan base they've not yet experienced but which all of us know is there. It's going to be a bitter pill for them and its their own fault.

Home truths need speaking now - in whatever form.

Evatt out.

Going to turn into resentment and anger.
