Retained lists are only ever those who are out of contract or returning to their parent club after a loan.

For obvious reasons, we're not going to advertise that x, y, & z are shite and we're desperate to get rid.

We only think it’s the norm because our previous manager would tell the world and announce what budget we have etc.

They were never going to release a list of 'players under contract we'd like to get rid of'.

Obviously

You can to be fair. Plenty move on contracts.

Can't see many queuing up wanting to match the length and wages of these fannies

looking back over the last couple of pages and I'm thinking....

Jesus Christ, if we're posting clips as to why the current squad should all be moved on, we're going to have a 1000-pager on our hands. We could very easily show clips of all the squad being abject.

sad to see them go, they had a great attitude

now give me a million English pounds

Depends how much they're really on as opposed to what the bloke in the pub thinks they're on.

Well, you can, but it would cost a fortune and we wouldn’t be able to afford any replacements

Santos and Jones have both been great servants. Genuinely thought Jones was older given the general consensus was that his legs were gone

Baxter probably the epitome of the entire squad. Terrific on his day yet injury prone, capable of some absolute howlers and ultimately didn’t look particularly arsed half the time.

Said it before. Baxter did an interview a few months ago where he publicly admitted he'd put weight on during the season. He's an intelligent lad, so to say it was ridiculous and a huge admission of his own poor standards. I was amazed at the time he wasn't called out for it. We were only ever a stepping stone for him to a Champ club. As the season end drew closer, and he realised this may not happen, he did his interview about how much he loved this club. He'll get a move, but it'll be either League One or sat on a Champ bench.

Huge opportunity for Luke Hutchinson.

Plenty will.

I see the new Cafu has been released.

Well I know that. But you said "was really hoping for more being released or being told they don't fit the clubs plans."

So perhaps not that obvious!

Seems a really likeable lad and is going to go down as one of those places who will disappear off the radar after so much early promise

Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up at Rochdale again and will probably do well for them, but at a level more suitable than where we are (and hoping to be)

Yep! Yet some castigated Evatt for not picking him every week.

He'll be playing against (possibly for) Chorley and the like next season.

I remember you posting this and at the time I thought get rid what a shit attitude.

There will have been players told theyre not in the mangers plans and to look for work else where, and while we cant just sack people, most of our fairly young squad will be desprate for starts at this stage in their careers so will be pushing their agents to engineer moves. Youll see a few go before the window is out.

Ok rephrased ...i was really hoping for more being released and I also hope that others have been told they don't fit the clubs plans.

Come on Schuey, post a price list up of the remaining squad members.

It's  going to be a long summer :D

I don't think there are any more they could have released unless prepared to pay up contracts.

And no doubt some have been told to look elsewhere. But it wouldn't serve the club well to say who they are. I expect some of those told to move on may not do so until the last day of the window. As i said in another thread, personal feel is that Lolos, CMG, Dempsey and Nlundulu will be the ones told to move on.

If that is it it is a real damp squib

I don’t think it is.

7 gone; Santos, Jones, Baxter, Coleman, Etete, Murphy and Matete.

While it’s no surprise, I’m not sure what else we can expect at this stage?

If contracted players go, they’ll have to go through a more time-consuming process. This will be something that slow drops throughout the summer I would have thought.

But presumably that’s 7 spaces to fill, so a good start to kick of summer re-arranging.

As for players not required but still in contract, they need to look at the Coleman example. He was told he wouldn't play, he didn't, presumably on a basic wage and now released.

It is interesting to see what will happen to the likes of Macatee, will the manager school him in the basics and insist his little flicks and wonder balls can only be brought out when we are 3 nil up?  Or just not pick him.
