I guess the transfer window will come down to budget, ruthlessness and Schumachers flexibility to consider alternative playing styles.

Recent comments suggest Inwood will be in plus the likes of Forrester, Forino, Demps, Morley, Thommo and a few others and I reckon that youth will be given an opportunity so it’s the other areas that he’ll be looking to improve - if we can find the money.

But we need quality, steel, pace and ruthlessness and that can be expensive as every team wants that so it’s going to be an interesting summer.

I think Inwood will go out on loan

He's been just about the only bright spark of a terrible season and I know how frustrating he can be at times.

He's a fabulous talent at this level. He's spent all season completely isolated with numb as piss stones partners in attack.

Stick up in a forward line with a proper number 9 he will be perfectly fine.

Remember it's not his job to bowling about takling folk like Kevin Davies.

He can beat a man from standing start, find passes nobody else can and pops up with vital goals often from distance too.

He's the last player we want to see leave by a hell of a margin.

At least one of him or McAtee is going to find himself not starting next season. I'd sooner that be McAtee.

There's more of a player in Collins, and there's been things he's done that have got me off my seat, but he has a lot of thinking and work on the training ground to do over Summer. He's gone badly backwards over the last few months, in keeping with most of the rest of course.

Not sure anybody's expecting him to be bashing centre backs about but his efforts at withstanding even a bit of physical contact have been woeful as the season's worn on, and if we lose the ball he's a non-contributor.

He'd also score more and cut out the glaring misses if he spent some time working on the basic of getting his head and knee over the ball when he hits it. Far too often he's stretching and leaning back and either hitting the top corner or roof of the net if it goes well, or blazing it high and wide if it doesn't.

He certainly could benefit from more robust support around him, though I'm not convinced he knows how to play in a 2 with someone else, he's better and happier in a 3, drifting around off the left, cutting in and letting bombs off.

To be fair to him, given his career record before coming to us, his return late last season and this has been at least as much as could probably have been expected, his challenge will be making sure he's integral to how SS wants to shape us up in August.

SS seems to be intimating that he wants a strong focal point up front and strong, pacy genuine wide men. If that means a 3 of that type up front, Collins won't fit in, even less so McAtee. If, though, he's thinking 4-2-3-1, he could be one of the three.

100%, he got a great partnership going with bod towards the end of last season.

Yeah, I agree

This is where he's looked at his best for us imo

If anyone offered us our money back on the likes of Randall, McAtee, Vic (I don't believe the Turk rumour), Dan, CMG or Lolos we'd snatch their hands off. I reckon same goes for Collins now after the last few months.

To be fair, in most cases we'd snatch their hands off for half what we paid.

Sad indictment of our recruitment over the past couple of years.

He also needs to cut out the unnecessary falling over, he does it just too often and refs are cottoning on to him. I wonder if he’s had a bollocking from SS about it and that’s why he’s dropped off so much lately. I’d certainly keep him but only with stronger players around him.

I agree on all but Randall. I don’t believe we’ve seen anything like his potential yet and he’s not really had a run in the side. He does have talent and I think we should give him a chance next season to show it. We don’t want all bruisers we do need a bit of finesse as well and he can provide that as well as score goals.

We're stuck with Vic unfortunately

No one's taking him with that injury

I know the attack technically hasn't been our achilles heel this season as the defence has been much worse.

But the more I think about, the worse it is regarding the up front personnel.

Didn't replace Bodvarsson, a target man that could hold it up and bring others into it (Collins as pointed out played fantastically with him)

Sold Charles (Wasn't setting it a light but it's Dion Charles, our best goal scorer in years an absolute pressing machine)

Even Cameron Jerome, okay it didn't work, but he was mostly there as an experienced head. We lost that too.

And I don't wanna mention Nlundulu as he's awful, but I am anyway,  even he is better, stronger and offers more than that Etete.

When you factor this all in, its no wonder our attack has been so bad as of late.

We've scored just  8 goals in our last 10 games sums it up well.

The club has suffered from awful management. From Evatt's tactics and recruitment. To Sharon and the boards management of Evatt, allowing him to decimate another whole season in League 1.

Then you factor in the piss weak players and their injuries.

Schumacher has come into an absolute mess.

Although Vic is limited, with hindsight I would rather have had him playing these last few months than Mcatee

I think we are limited to how many we can bring in possibly only 4 I would like to think 1 up front that can hold up the ball 1 in midfield that can win a ball and 2 big defenders

We need to get our defence sorted we leak too many goals the midfield we have can't tackle

We also need to practice passing the ball we lose it too many times this is probably down to formation we don't seem to know where our players should be

Also marking at formations at dead ball situations

Not much really!

Vic would have had a hat trick against Rotherham at home when we created about 50 chances

What’s the probability of all 50 chances landing with him, though?

I’d have to challenge this?

I was a big fan of Collins but I think he’s been found out. I don’t buy the argument with Bod because both hardly set the place a light and offered little threat in the one game that really mattered away at Derby last year.

I think Collins has a bit of sparkle, that little bit of technique at times that’s better than most but it’s not enough. Some of his goals have been real quality.

Unfortunately though his lack of presence and inability to doing anything remotely physical. Going totally missing for two thirds of the game, having no real pace and inability to beat a man so invariably goes down every time to win a free kick say he’s not the answer for me. Bench at best and I think that’s the issue we have. Mcatee is even shitter which is scary.

We've had plenty of fabulously talented players at all levels down the years. If Collins was anywhere near as good as people (and he himself) think he is, it wouldn't matter who was next to him.

He'll be 28 next time he kicks a ball and has never shown himself to be anything above an average L1 player. I wouldn't be running him out of the club, but I'd snap your hand off for anything above what we paid.

Can't see any of this crop being club ambassadors on match day in twenty years time or youth team coaches

Seems Vic has joined the club where you get better the longer you're out

Toal , forester , Dempsey , farino , Gomes , tutu  Just aren’t available enough you can’t be carrying 6 players constantly in and out then taking a few more games to get back up to speed like Dempsey recently has been then back out again .
on top of having victor missing for half the season Dan also out then the injuries you will pick up on the way for a 22 man squad before you know it half the team is unavailable again . Ruthless decisions need to be made

If they were picking teams from some fat pissheads at the Vuclan and some rough sleeping bag heads in town Vic would struggle to look anything out of the ordinary.

Given Evatt basically signed his mates from Barrow and a few ex Blackpool players, most of which had very little experience I dont even trust that Training and Physiotherapy was being done to correctly. I remember something about a "root and branch reveiw" with this being one of the problem area's being done and then nothing happened.

I thik Plymouth at Wembley and Northern Ireland playing  toal when he was injured was the start of his troubles then evatt playing Dempsey with a broken back didn’t help but we get a lot hamstrings probably down to training and recovery .

Quite interesting what SS said in the BEN, not sure if he's having a dig at the current crop of players, I wouldn't be surprised though.(see below)

“You have just got to find the right players and get the right personalities, more than anything. You've got to get people who have high standards every day, train properly, professionally, and can carry out what you've asked them to do on the pitch, week in, week out, and be consistent.

All of those guys are still under contract ( not sure about Forrester).

How are you going to get ruthless with them?
