2025/26 League One Season

Early, but am I weird to be kinda looking forward to a fresh season under Schuey, with some of his players to come in?

Just trying to move on from this catastrophe of a season as quickly as possible for my own sanity.

We know Cardiff City & Plymouth are joining us along with one other of either Hull City, Luton Town, PNE, Derby or Stoke. Would like Hull or PNE personally, think they'd be less of a challenge than the others.

Port Vale, Doncaster joining too along with potentially Bradford and one more. Nice to see some northern clubs coming.

Glad to see the back of Brum and Wrexham. I think as it stands we will be the favourite to go up, will also have the leagues largest attendances, and probably the biggest club by some distance with big hitters less prominent. Pressure will be greater than ever, yet I'm looking forward to it.

Its been one long season, I guess the first thing everybody needs is a big long break.

That's right. Stockport are outstandingly well recruited, prepared and coached, in training and on matchdays. No stand out talents, no mavericks or ballers, just strong, fit, fast and decent players,

That's what I thought.  I'm sure he was their manager when they stuffed us in the league cup when we had the kids playing.  He's not done enough in the game to be ahead of Evatt imo.

Certainly doesn't have the managerial background of IE, but has coached at Man City since (where they rated him highly). Probably made an unwise move going to Leicester with Van Nistelrooy. He will have good contacts in the game that give Cardiff access to high quality loans and other players. Depends what Cardiff want really. In a strange way, IE is less of a risk than him or Buckingham. Cardiff seems a long way for someone who wouldn't leave Chesterfield when working for us (until he took up his hotel residence)

The coach route worked for Ipswich and Brum getting out of L1 though decent budgets helped also

I'm happy to have someone who's been there done that but plenty decent coaches make the step up

Thinking Arteta and Maresca also

Unreal what you guys have to do travelling away.

We have 5 games within a 100 mile round trip which is your closest!

I lived in Rochdale for many years and watched them a bit with daughter who was born and bred there and a fan

Barry-Murphy was first team coach at Rochdale, briefly with Hill, then others, then Hill again, for nearly 8 years, responsible for bringing through and blooding a number of young talents in that time such as Morley, Callum Camps, Andy Cannon, Oli Rathbone.

That first and only go at management was a tough gig, he took them down to L2 but they were already struggling to keep their heads up in L1 when he took over.

Certainly done well since at City in a coaching capacity, handling and developing some big talents.

Be interesting to see how he goes having another crack at management, particularly somewhere like Cardiff in their current circs

Marbella Football Centre, 950 capacity, restricted to 570 for matches. 11.00am kick off. 50km from Malaga Airport.

Last season’s AST first dibs.

After Lancaster Whites of course.
