Fine and sound are not good enough.....The problem if we play with two wingers then it leaves Burstow alone

We have to have both wingers on top of their game or we struggle at the top end of the field

And Tutu is just basically steady away with no goal threat.

He got the assist yesterday and could have had another!!

He could have should have Scored against Bradford.....His stats are simply not good enough

Is he a bad player,,,,No but he is the last of Evatts wingbacks/hybrid players and is not good enough to be either full back or winger in the way Schumacher plays...A ideal sub who can slot in if needed in a number of positions

To be fair, that’s essentially what he’s doing. Gale’s generally been our first choice left winger - he’s been injured and Tutu is his replacement. Tutu is perfectly good enough as a back up winger in a L1 team.

Why?   Can you tell me what position TuTu plays?

At the moment left forward (opposite ACD who is right forward) - I would have thought that was quite easy to see.

A position which requires the player to offer a balance of providing an attacking threat and doing the hard yards to help the FB defensively- something he’s done pretty well with the last couple of games.

And this isn’t just me by the way - there’s multiple posts above where folk are seeing the same thing.

A danger Gale might be going into the "gets better when injured" category.  I rate him and love watching him, but he has quiet games too, especially away.  Tutu has gone from "1 assist in 40 games" or whatever it was to being the only one of the two to get an assist away from home.  Does that now mean he has to start at Wycombe? Our performances away from home have a low bar offensively and its stretching it a bit to suggest we're much improved when anyone gets picked or doesn't, other than ACD obviously.

The jury should definitely still be out on Gale - but he was signed for (relatively) big money and showed against Wigan that his ceiling is very high. He'll rightly come back into the side when fit and get a good run at it.

If he isn't up to it, then we'll look to strengthen again in January (I expect we will anyway - and send Cissokho back). Great if Tutu played well yesterday and great that he's now up to a goal involvement every 10 appearances for us, I just don't see us ever settling for him as one of our starting wingers for any length of time.

You was telling me Friday Cogley inclusion was  a informed, researched and specific to the opposition call

I told you Friday it was a bad call.......You informed me you are rarely wrong.......You are wrong  and we will not get promoted with Cogley at right back and TuTu on the wing.

That is opinion, not fact 😊

An opinion which I disagree with and think is wrong.

So in my eyes and others I am right.

There have been and there was this weekend (fact) and will again this season (opinion) be times when Cogley and Tutu start and help get us points towards promotion.

I feel very good about this debate because if we get promoted I will have been proven correct - whereas you will only win this debate if we don’t get promoted - a very hollow and twisted victory in wanderers ways debating.

So it gives me great pleasure in surmising that we - and the rest of all us Bolton fans - will both hope that I am proven to be the winner in this debate.

And I probably will 😊😉 😘

Anyone who'd willingly watch League One football for the sake of being 'correct' on the internet (we're all just guessing based off limited knowledge, even when you're 'right' it's probably just luck) is obviously mental.

However, your debate with masi is probably a moot point because my guess is Tutu won't start the majority of our games from this point.

Nottingham Forest had the entire Lever End in the late 70s.

I think they arrived early on boxing day and it was passing down so the police put them in there.

3,000 plus of them and the Bolton fans got drenched on the embankment.

Dont think so - my memory it was half and half

You like to follow this idea that I watch “L1 football” to call people out on the internet 😂

What I am, is a pretty positive yet realistic BWFC fan who is quick to jump on folk who I feel are overly negative, especially those who are so assured in their claims that their negative opinion is right or fact.

And if disproving the doom-mongers and being correct aligns with Bolton getting promoted then all is good 😁👍

Maybe folk just watch highlights shows and other games when they're on just because they like watch football?

I advise most people to do so. Especially teams in and around us.

Folk would soon realise we aren't that far off afterall.

Not certain i am a doom-monger

I just have a opinion that both Cogley and TuTu are our weakest link. It is a Football forum.....Neither of us are right or wrong it is only opinions.

Was trying to see whether Simons red card suspension. can be used next Saturday - looks like it can:

Yes, a suspension from a red card issued in a league game will carry over to an FA Cup game

Simons get a 1 match ban ?    Does the vertu trophy and fa cup count ?

My little bit of AI searching is all I’ve seen, so unless someone quotes or knows something else, Vertu trophy is separate (so Simons isn’t banned for this) but FA cup does count (so he can serve his one match suspension next Saturday)

All good if it means he can play in the next league game

If our second choice right-back and left-sided forward are our weakest links then we're in decent shape. Both are out of contract next summer btw.

This works both ways! If you say I’m wrong I’m going to come back and argue otherwise if I think I’m right, especially when I’m basing some of my positive debate on fact!

And you’ll never stop me calling out negativity (doom mongering just another term for this) I think is wrong! (“We’ll lose, such a body isn’t good enough/shouldn’t start, we’re going to be also-rans this season, this is just an Evatt team” etc)

But yes of course it’s all opinion. Opinion I’m happy to argue for/against - that’s why we’re here!

I don't have any opinion on who should start on the left wing, its all much of a muchness, but I'd be surprised if Tutu doesn't start the next league game.  I'm basing that on him reportedly playing decent yesterday and getting an assist, and nearly another, in a team when wingers crossing accurately to teammates doesn't come around all that often.  If Gale starts fine, but I'd be surprised as it seems nailed on that Gale will start at least one of the cup games (assuming fit enough).

Pretty much where I am at 👍

It’s great that we have good options in many positions.

I liked George Johnston’s comments this week that we could almost field two competitive sides in league one!

Cogley was nowhere near as bad as folk made out yesterday.

Honestly baffled where any criticism comes from. Our group all had him in the top three performers yesterday. Covered so much ground and put in a couple of really key blocks.

Cogley and Tutu 😂

Perhaps being at the game we saw something different

Not Tutu’s biggest fan, purely because I object to the entire incompatibility of someone’s two strongest positions being right back or left wing, but he was perfectly fine yesterday. Certainly offers a lot more than Cissoko, especially away from home.

I don't doubt it, but there are plenty of people getting paid to watch football morning, noon and night who make bad decisions and get things wrong all the time.

Anyone who could genuinely get a proper steer on a football team from a highlights show would be worth billions in today's game.

It's entertaining to watch and chat shit about football, but everyone should be aware of the fact that none of us know anything really.

Personally I think you talk a load of bollocks, but I absolutely defend your right to talk bollocks on here because a) it’s only your opinion and b) there’s a very fine line between “negativity” and constructive criticism - which is positive as it’s a suggestion to help the team do better.

Not sure what the opposite of “doom-monger” is, but there are plenty of people who choose to interpret anything that can be construed as criticism as being negative which is downright stupid in a situation where we, the team, the manager and the Board are seeking continuous improvement.
