Run-in

8 games unbeaten with a run of like 8 games that are all "winnable" before an incredibly difficult April/May, each game goes and the gap seems to widen above us and we really are looking at the end game now

We haven't beaten anyone by more than 1 goal since 8th November vs bottom of the league Port Vale (4-0) and our performances recently are mixed, good for a half here and there and needing moments in the last minute to scrape points whilst missing a ton of great chances, I think with this keeper we'd have seen more points earlier in season, in a part I think our performances where much better but we dropped points so much.

If we go into April, 16 unbeaten (that seems far-fetched to say lol), confidence may be sky high playing those teams but when we can't seem to take easy chances and kill games, it's gonna be one hell of a sweat-fest against these tougher teams.

I think part of me feels there's still a chance because nerves play a part, I just don't think given our last 5 games we will get top 2 because we will need Lincoln to have a big slip up whilst we almost go perfect,  if we have a lot of dropped points in these next 8 games, the worst case could be we surrender the playoffs like last season, but I doubt this, you can't be third all season, without really clicking either for it go wrong all of a sudden, if it is to be the playoffs those last 5 games are great preparation at least.

How do you see it going? gonna be nervy.

We only play Stockport once.....

So 13 wins rather than 14..........

Were quite capable of winning the next eight, But we need to take more of our chances. Same old story.

Good summary

Absolutely no idea

Head say play-offs, Heart says hope to feck Lincoln implode

FML like I'm tryna make look even harder 😁

We had a easy Xmas and fucked that up impossible to say who we beat in the run in

It wouldn’t surprise me if we got 19 points in those next 8 games (would be a hell of a run but reasonable when you go game by game).

Being realistic, I think Lincoln probably pick up 15 over the same period (including their game in hand).

If that were the case then we’re 4 points behind with 5 to go and on paper our 5 are far harder than theirs.

It’s play offs for me, but I think we’ve got the chance to at least put pressure on due to how the fixtures fall and then who knows? Worst comes to worst we go into the play offs in decent form.

I don't think any away game is a gimme.

Keep going and hope to finish top 3

Which I think we will

With 1 goal here and there in every game, I'm not predicting any results other than our customary win at P Vale.

But unsure why Stevenage would be in the "winnable" column and Huddersfield in the "tough" one.

I know who I'd rather play in the play offs, imagine 2 games against them!

And would we rather have in form Plymouth away or a home game v Luton or Hudds?

The only game I wouldn't put in the winnable category is the obvious one, Cardiff away.

If we turn up, every single one of the other 12 are there for the taking.  But they can also easily turn into 1-0 defeats or 1-1's, we've seen the script enough times.

Exeter , Plymouth & Cardiff are our stumbling blocks imo .

Nah, we’re shite at home these days.
Eight wins and a draw in last ten aways is fun though

The thing that gets me,  i have seen cardiff at our place and twice ont tele and they are absolutely nothing special at all,  poor in fact.   They must be tremendous in most of their games that ain't ont tele

Effective, like Lincoln.

As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm sure their three goals the other night were celebrated with gusto, and would be regarded as more entertaining than our many missed chances.

Anyone that says we can't catch Lincoln have a look at Arsenal. They were home and hosed a month ago.

Not easy to predict any more than a couple of games ahead as it gets near the season's end, got to factor in opponents situations, are they desperate for points or on the beach, on a roll or going down the pan, full of tension or playing with abandon.

I'd like to think we keep the unbeaten run going, turn a few draws into wins and stretch away from the others in the play offs, in a manner that puts fear into them for when the time comes. Going into them in form, winning and scoring, much better than stumbling into them having gone off the boil

Assuming we don’t catch Lincoln I’m not fussed where we finish in the play offs as long as we do and frankly I can’t see us not doing but however we do it we just have to get our strikers firing. Missing so many chances must hit their confidence so hopefully in the remaining games we can improve on that. I don’t know what they do in training but for me some shooting practise and just making sure they at least hit the target should be on the menu every single day. Forget the worldies just make the keeper work.

As impressive as your away form is, I thought it was 8 away wins all season?

So being very optimistic and 6 wins 2 draws 20pts, only gets us to 77 from the next 8, so we'd need a min of 13 PTS from the last 5, to get to 90 points.

10 wins and 3 draws from 13. Pretty unlikely I would suggest.

Since we went up with Parky, only 2 teams have gone up with 90 or less points automatically, the lowest Peterborough in 2021 with 87.

So statistically we are fucked, glad I worked that out!! as pissed myself off even more about the stagnation under FV.

Play offs it is. 😬

I am not because i think we can get a draw at either Bradford or Stockport and do the business at home.....We will have the added bonus of ACD and Forss back and hopefully we will have some very hungry forwards by then

My concern and it has been all season is our defenders being caught up front and gifting easy goals......At times we have played 2/4/4 this season as our full backs have pushed on past the wingers and at certain points ie when we get a corner we only have Desmond back defending......SS still has us too gung-ho

See coventry also

Although I don't think we will because of our run in. (On Paper)

39 points. Everyone on the pitch. Pints flowing in the hotel

Beggars can't be choosers but I can see us having an away game 1st leg and it being relatively flat as they often are, at Huddersfield, Bradford or Stockport.

That same game in a 2nd leg with the scores inevitably either level or 1 goal either way, and it becomes a very different proposition, with us having about 1k tickets and them having a full house ramping up the atmosphere.  We don't travel well at the best of times (except at Huddersfield granted).

It would be an opportunity lost if we didn't reverse that and get the obvious advantage of this team playing at home when the result really matters.

And if it goes to extra time, an extra 30 minutes and possible penalties in our stadium rather than their's has to be better.
