Got to Rotherham early doors one year with @victor meldrew. Got refused entry to Milmore because I had a little too much to drink. Which I couldn't argue against. Mainly because I couldn't talk. Anywa

I like Burstow, and he offers us something a bit different. And I'm with you on his attitude. He doesn't moan or grumble when he's benched and always celebrates goals like he's scored them himself. Ev

I've been to no other club more than the Millers. Lost count how many times I've been. I doubt anyone on here has seen us win there. It's been a monkey on my back far too long so Iamin

FFS win so I don't have to go back there EVER AGAIN!

Best day there in my time was a 2-2 draw in (had to look it up) 27/4/91. Tony Cunningham brace in glorious sunshine. Cracking away following and atmosphere.

definitely rose tinted specs with time .

That match was heart breaking . 93rd minute equaliser for them that all but cost us promotion . Atmosphere was mental up to that point tho .

Anyway, because of some stupid bylaw about entering a sporting arena while intoxicated I got locked up and later took to Rotherham Central. While there I met PC Roscoe. He was GMPs football intelligence officer for Bolton. Back then Bolton were causing havoc at most away fixtures in the country. He basically wanted me to be his grass. Anything being planned or folk involved in frontline action he wanted names. He told me that they knew who the big boys were but needed someone "in the mix". FFS I have never been "in the mix" in my life. No matter how much I tried @Casino and @victor meldrew never did get that 5am door knock.

The lady constable seems to be an avid follower at away games now !    Spoke to her at Wimbledon and she was awreet when we asked if this was double time and what class of hotel she got put up in.

Dont seem to have sold many tickets for this one??

Can't go this year because of a family commitment.  Went last year and missed out on the reportedly excellent pork & crackling barms on sale outside.  They would have brightened what was a miserable experience.

I saw us draw there 1-1 when Wayne Foster went in goal. About the only highlight of 4 trips there.

That was my first of many visits to Millmoor, Feb 84, just the 42 years ago.  Foster had to do plenty to keep us in the game, backed by plenty Bolton fans behind his goal in the 2nd half.  I can't recall why he went in goal - sending off or injury to Simon Farnworth?

Always reminds me of when Sober Dan travelled up from Reading on Christmas Day on a Mega Bus and stayed in a holiday inn for this fixture on Boxing Day

A grim thought for a grim fixture

That's even worse than the Rochdale detour arrive after a 5-1 defeat, poor Sober Dan

Blimey.  We're old!

Farnworth broke his ankle that day iirc. I'm wondering if that was the season we brought John Platt(?) in as cover/replacement.  Simon Rudge scored the equaliser that day. A low drive into the corner at the opposite end.

Tkts appear to be on sale early be quick

The barms are nice but you need to rob a bank to afford them!!

I went Millmoor on a bus from Albion. Kicked off big style in a boozer at back of ground, all "Yorkshire Miner" in sheepskin jackets and bent noses.

Remember buying a pie that's was about 1000*c hot, and walking down the passageway side of ground to the away end and Rotherham fans were spitting and throwing shit at us. I took aim and lobded the said pie upwards, it hit the wall beneath a Millers fan and spattered against the wall covering his neck and under chin region with molten potatoe (larva), can still see his face as he clutched his neck and the pain on his face!

We drew 2-2 i Think and Wayne Foster went in goal after keeper went off injured, sure he saved a penalty, and we drew 2-2.

Me and my mate got off bus at bottom of Shack in Tyldelsey and went in Chippy and Wayne Foster, was getting dropped off as we came out of chippy, we walked up Shakerley road with him and he was eating our chips laughing at the tale about the pie

Great days!!

Hey mate, did you know the Redmonds? I used to be a good mate of Jud, we worked in the pit together. I used to go in a pub on the estate, cant remember the name of it? They all lived up the Shack.

Yeah pal, went to school with Carl, a year older than me.

Another two injuries including Tolaj out for a month knocked the confidence that we’ll soften them up for you.
