Mounts Kipper Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Don't quote me, but ??18 rings a bell for that last game v Charlton. if thats the case if you buy a family ticket it is better value now than it was then, i think my season ticket cost ??24 per game now so that looks pretty reasonable, i think fans who buy tickets ad hoc for games are being charged through the nose, personally speaking i think the club should sell all tickets to season ticket holders and bollox to them who pick and choose there games, as it stands the club puts a ceiling on sales at about 21,000, i would sell all 25,000 to season ticket holders, and i would use this target to drive up sales saying no tickets will be available to part timers who pick and choose there games. also bolton should offer interest free schemes for payment of season tickets to those who cannot pay upfront.
Casino Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 mounts a family ticket is relatively good value, but still over a thousand quid anyway, i think zico and traf have both summed it up pretty well high prices - at least for league games are here to stay those league games will be played at the reebok very likely the stadium will remain all-seater women and kids are going to be at the ground folk who weren't there against darlington will be in the ground within those constraints we have to try to improve the experience......
Guest as Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Yeah, I was only 14 at the time. Jimmy Phillips with that 30 yard screamer v Wolves - yeeeeeessssssssssss That was back when football was the highlight of the week. Well, along with drinking White Lightning on the park ;dd :vm PB

Traf Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Don't quote me, but ??18 rings a bell for that last game v Charlton. I said don't quote me!
Carlos Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Like Traf said, we are stuck with the Reebok. Let's make of it what we can. The thread was started after the Fulham game which categorically had THE worst atmosphere I have EVER experienced watching a Bolton home game in some 30 years. So... What are we going to do about it? Over to you Mr Chairman!
Ani Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 having just read the thread on the danish lads experience of the club I have a question.... if you asked me 10 years if i felt 'part' of the club i would have given a definite yes, these days i do not have that same feeling, how many others feel the same ? supporting the wanderers was almost part of being from bolton, and living away since i was 18 it maybe made this feeling stronger, but these days i do not feel anyway near as strongly, maybe becuase i am getting older or maybe how the club treats people. the two maybe the same as i daresay in 70s and 80s the club treated fans badly, i can think of nothing worse than building a supermarket on the ragging ground for instance.
Carlos Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 After reading the Danish story, I have changed my views, NO rugby club would treat a supporter with such contempt. Football is the new opera! Watched by the middle and upper classes. Fans sit there in silence, watching the acts, politely clapping after each one. No one would dare stand up apart from at one of the designated breaks It's ragging expensive. Fans don't get to see the practice (soundcheck) The singers are superstars who don't need to interact with the general public.

Henrick_Pedigol Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 When I was a kid on holiday in Alicante me and my dad ended up playing football with a load of 40 odd year old guys by the pool. Anyway to cut a long story short one of the guys gave me his Barcelona cap, which I still have. Its from the FC Barcelona supporters club bar in a suburb of Alicante. Me and my dad went down for a look and it was superb. Outside the official Barca badge in lights, inside a bar dedicated to Barcelona. I'm not suggesting that Bolton has the pulling power of Barcelona but I think the ethos of Barcelona in that it is the people's club is something we should try to strive for. Surely we could sustain a town centre supporters bar, or/and one in Horwich or on Middlebrook. Then at least people who dont/cant get to the games have somewhere official to go and 'follow' the team. Regarding the atomshpere in the Middlebrook bars, I remember a decent atmosphere in the Middlebrook tavern before some big games about 3/4 years ago
Carlos Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Either Carlos was in the know or he also writes articles for BWFC official site Garty launched an investigation when he heard there was a tenor on the pitch. CARLOS VVITK FACT

Carlos Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 I've been to a Barca game, 42,000 on, most of whom were English tourists. The locals were sat there knitting, I kid you not!

Carlos Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Bump. Sam had another ill informed pop at the fans who blindly pump money into the club, forgetting those that can't be arse going any more and to mention that anyone showing some passion risks a life ban anyway
Ghana White Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I watched MOTD last night and my mates girlfriend whos not that arsed about football started laughin her head off when they played I feel good after a goal. She said that that's a complete joke. Strange, she can see what a laughing stock it makes us but no one at the club can...
