andyacky Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 why dont we have a wways night once a month at a pub if owt it will be a laugh
Underpants Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 All the things that get on your tits - admission price, flags, cheerleaders, Reebok Rhythm, Stadium etc???.. If them things bother you that much then it's about time someone pulled their finger out and put the wheels of change into motion. Proactive is a word that???s been thrown around a few times. I suggest we form a committee and procrastinate about it some more. Balls to the Reebok. European away games are the future, get saving up.

Guest as Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I saw some scally bird in town yesterday screaming at her kid 'you'd better behave, you little f*cking c*nt'. No doubt that kid will excel at school :^o And as for Gartside, nice of him to offer to meet up, maybe they will listen. Or maybe it'll be ??35 for a ticket in the home end next season..............but that's what happens in the 'real world'. PB
Carlos Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 Last thoughts on this: it is all about money, yes we (or at least Eddie Davies) have a debt and top players cost top dollar. This is why we should endevour to fill the ground for every game. BWFC can pitch themselves at the more affluent parts of the community but we live in a town of some 270,000 people and have Premier League clubs in all directions so have little or no scope for expansion. BWFC needs to get back to basics, get the man on the street back into the habit of going to games, the buzz and atmosphere will return Finally, we don't need a marketting manager, communications director, commercial director etc. These guys probably take more out of the club that they put it!
Casino Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 This is why we should endevour to fill the ground for every game actually, (unfortunately) we should endeavour to make the most money we can from every game as you know, a full ground and maximised income aren't necessarily the same thing

(genuine questions not trying to make a point) I do still enjoy the match but more and more that is because of the quality on the pitch and less and less because of the laugh. carlos will know what i mean here, there is a lad who sits behind me and he is a right not right, but a good lad, pissed and having a laugh. He can be a pain at times but no other fucker around even speaks, apart form me swearing at someone. going the game has become sanitised.

Traf Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 How about this then? Instead of lowering (or effectively raising!) prices for Cup games, why not a voucher entitling the fans to 2 free drinks in the ground? This has a paper value of ??5, but actually costs the club less than ??1.50. It can however be written off as a ??5 loss for taxation purposes. That way everybody wins. Secondly, why not reintroduce the "happy hour" they had in the Stadium Bars? Half Price Beer until 2.30pm to get more people in early. The bars still generate a profit at half price and they'd be selling much more beer, since there's hardly anybody in the ground now before 2.30.

To make this worth while, the bars would have to serve 5 times the number people in the same length of time. I for one am not queueing for 20+ minutes to get my hands on the shite beer that they serve at The Reebok - even if it is free!

Garrp Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 The price isnt going to drop. Something needs to be done so that people are willing the pay the price the club charge. Atmosphere is the main thing. Standing sections in a certain part of the ground for next season would be a big move.
Horwich Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 get rid off some of those advertisent boards and gets some more flags up...make the place look like a football ground and not some billboard graveyard with a bit of grass/mud in the middle. get some of those banner things that you hold above your head. just get sommat that will increase the atmosphere a little
