leigh white Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Is it possable to sue RM, if say an important letter does not reach a client on time, and he ends up losing a shed load of money?
Whites man Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 Is it possable to sue RM, if say an important letter does not reach a client on time, and he ends up losing a shed load of money? If you trust such a letter to the regular postal service then you deserve all that comes to you.
MickyD Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 No bills today. No bills tomorrow. Three days of bills on wednesday
Crawley White Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Did anyone hear Adam Crozier on the Today programme? Spoke a lot of sense about how many outmoded pratices they have done away with in the RM, but that there is still a long way to go before they are as competitive as other companies in their sector. Many of them are directly - to quote - 'out of the 70s'. Spoke to one Postie who didn't really seem to know why he was striking, kept banging on about the managment 'dumbing down' the company!? Basically they want jobs for life under any restructure a pay increase above the 2.1% offered AND to keep the system of overtime. Barmy.
Guest tel_net Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 RM is a joke. The sooner there are other options for domestic post the better IMO. When the post is running normally, it is abysmal to where I live - often not getting post for days and then a big wad in one hit. Basically, they sand bag post if they're short-staffed, and this came from a manager I spoke to at the sorting office when I complained. I know for a fact, that RM employs a lot of agency staff, many of whom dont have a vested interest in RM or the service. In fact, I also know for a fact, that some of these agency staff have records and openly steal letters etc., take drugs on the job. No wonder the postal service is crap and people dont trust it. The pay deal on the table seems fair to me and they need to get real with the modern world and that means companies becoming more efficient with less people. No such thing as a job for life any more. Holding the country to ransom isnt the answer.
Bea Smith Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 On the news this morning it was reported that talks with RM and the union have broken down and they are now planning to start 'rolling strikes' ie- monday the sorting staff strike, tues the drivers strike, weds the posties strike etc etc. It will be utter chaos.

Hayes is a joke, this strike is a joke and the public are against it. In PMQ's yesterday Gordon Brown said that the G'vt will not interveen yet as they agree with the managments position but that they cannot stand idly by mouch longer. This way the reason I celebrated the abolition of Clause 4 - people will not, and should not, be held to ranson by the union's anymore

GMB have voted to accept the governments 2.5% offer, but unison (the bigger union in local government) are digging their heels in and balloting for strike action! Guest as Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Remember that Simpsons episode? We'll form a union, so you can't treat us like this anymore - and then we'll get greedy & we'll strike..........and then the Japanese will eat us alive!
Smiffs Posted October 9, 2007 Author Posted October 9, 2007 F?ck em. I reckon the public should dig in here. I have made other arrangements this week, its been a slow labourious pain but one I'm happy to persevere with if it means these lazy f?ckers lose.
Underpants Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Busy as hell at work covering for them arsewipes. No extra cash for my efforts.
Traf Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Busy as hell at work covering for them arsewipes. No extra cash for my efforts. Likewise, but i get paid per delivery. Stay on strike, you f?ckers.

Doesn't really work like that...and it's dropped considerably since then I think Plus wage inflation is lower I think If you allow wages to spiral inflation will follow and it becomes a vicious circle
Dodgywheel Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 Hang on the posties are going on strike for PAY, the post office operated at a 12 million pound LOSS last year, I can't but help think YOUR LUCKY TO STILL HAVE A JOB. Not many companies run like that and don't sack, sorry make redundant all the work shy b@satrds, who contribute to the losses.
C86 Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 (edited) My cc, gas, leccy, water, phone all come by email/online, only thing I'd use post for is Amazon/Ebay etc but you can use a carrier. Ok it costs more but you know it will turn up. Tax credits, child benefits are paid direct into the bank. The sooner we get everything else via PDF etc the better. Do we need them lazy cunts? No, fukcing stay on strike you workshy fops. Edited October 9, 2007 by Crew86

Porrohman Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 (edited) Lazy fuckers? Why because some finish early, yeah the ones who fooking go in an hour before they are supposed to,don`t have a break, run round like a set of twats use their own cars, dozier and Late-on brought this practise in as they wanted a single delivery to save money, funny but not many posties made much time up before maybe an hour if you was on a doddle. Crozier is a pussy, going on about spanish practises, hummm what about your `gravy train`practises, bullshitting on about how your pension would also be affected.....well if I was on a milion pound a year I wouldn`t give a shit about a pension, and lets face it you won`t be in the fooking job that long, you`ll be shagging another company into the ground. Ani Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Why dont our ever green environmentally friendly government tax junk mail I wonder? you can pay VAT on junk mail. it depends on the % of the pack that is zero rated. it is because it is information, you can not tax learning.......... the fact is that any aganecy worth its slat makes the whole pack vat free. if there are five items in the pack and three are zero rated the whole thing becomes zero rated, it there are 4 and two are the whole pack is vatable, so it is worth putting an extra item in to pack the whole pack vat free.
Smiffs Posted October 11, 2007 Author Posted October 11, 2007 Its not information, its shite. You might as well cut the middle man out and chop down all the trees down then shove them straight into landfill, becuase thats where it ends up. So f?ckin well tax the bollocks off it. smiffs chancellor
