At work with, one of my work colleagues had phoned me to check as he was in Manahattan, on a buying trip and needed to know what the hell was going on. I switched the tv on in the conference room to find out as the internet had gone to pot (presumably meltdown). Got a bit of a f?cking shock when I did!

I was in Lindos, Rhodes.

Saw the 2nd plane fly in to the tower as it happened.

Following day I flew to Athens. The plane hit some turbulence on descent. There was a few twitchy @rses!!

At work. Someone came into the office saying a plane had hit the twin towers.

I asked him was there a 40 foot gorilla on top of one of them?

Then saw the look on his face and went to the TV room

12 months earlier I had stood on top of the World Trade Center.

I was sat at work at Norweb, on Manchester Road.....loved that job....did nowt ALL day!

It went round on email, I was reading it, waiting for a punch-line, was convinced it was a joke of some kind.

Then reality set in, quite a few tears in that building that day.

Sombre mood throughout lightened by the presence of Bruce Jones (aka Les Battersby) and his insistence that next on the terrorists target list after the Twin Towers and the Pentagon was the CIS tower and they were due to evacuate imminently :nea:
