Guest Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Take anything you like from the bottom shelf: you are a winner. It's not normally the one people think of. McAnespie was just under a mill and Ged came just before Blake. Not Jamie Pollock?
MickyD Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Jussi used to be a sparky. I wonder if he knows what terminals are best for fastening wires to testicles.
Traf Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Coyle was only ?250,000. Pollock was ?900,000 with further sums due based on appearances etc.

C86 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I'm sure it will be for charity, they do that these days. Fair enough. Charity yes, his back pocket no and he'll got told so on Sat if he's playing
Sluffy Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) Now then, Dutchy: Asking who our 1st ?1m player is, always generates a discussion. I know who it is though: but let's see what other answers we get. Our first player bought in excess of ?1 million is indeed Taggart - he cost ?1.5 million from Barnsley. But being pedantic - our first ?1 million player was Ricardo Gardner from Jamaican club, Harbour View - who cost ?1 million! (Blake's transfer was valued at ?1.2 million which included Patterson going the other way to Sheffield United). Edited May 5, 2009 by Sluffy
superjohnmcginlay Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) Frandsen?..............edit Taggert EDIT again Taggert Quick question out of interest how much did Chris Fairclough cost? Edited May 5, 2009 by superjohnmcginlay
Astonishing Undercrackers Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 ....Is to be against Hibs 8th August, should be announced tomorrow!!! Hibs? Haha. It may as well be against Eagley PJP. So, basically, what's happening is that we're calling one of the pre-season frendlies 'Jussi's Testimonial'? Hardly Peter Thompson's testimonial type stuff is it? And quite right too. Why should we Quid up a guy that's already got more than he can spend?
Tombwfc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 It's a bit shit if its just us against Hibs in a normal pre-season Friendly. It should be..... Bolton Legends Of The Last 10 years..... -----------------------------Jaaskelainen------------------------------------- --N'Gotty-----------Bergsson-------------Campo---------------Gardner------ --Diouf---------------Nolan--------------Okocha---------------Djorkaeff---- ----------------------Eidur--------------Anelka-------------------------------- vs Dogshit From The Last 10 Years...... ---------------------------Banks--------------------------------------- --O'Kane---------Howey------------Diawara----------Cid---------- --Summerbee----Passi------------Bulent------------Fernandes------ ---------------------Jardel--------Armstrong--------------------------- Now that'd be worth a watch.

I would pay to see those boys play again.
YATESY Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Testimonials worth watching have to be a best-of match. The last one I watched was Super John's - which hit the spot.
Guest Holly_Goodhead Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 The Jimmy Phillips testimonial against Celtic was worth watching, the crowd was in the late teens of thousands. We had a friendly against Rangers lined up a few seasons ago, tickets were sold to Rangers fans in Scotland but then it was cancelled when we found out what the police bill would be! Hibs will attract a slightly bigger crowd than some of the C listers we have had like Heerenveen and Espanyol.
SatanGreavsie Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Len Cantello was ?350k in 1979 which by RPI equates to ?1.3 million now

Danny G Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Testimonial has been confirmed now http://www.bwfc.co.uk/page/General/0,,1004~1649709,00.html

Tombwfc Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) If we get relegated, won't that be the day the season starts? Obviously we're not going to be, I was just thinking. I suppose if we're relegated, Jussi won't be here and it won't matter anyway. Edited May 6, 2009 by Tombwfc
The True Marple White Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 The question for this is WHO would you like to see back in a Bolton Shirt to help celebrate this. For me it has to be: Jay Jay Youri Campo is a must as he didn't get a good send off! Gudni without question!
Sweep Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I think it's a bit harsh that people presumed he would pocket all the money from this game, at least he's come out and said it will all go charity

A testimonial should not be a pre-season friendly rebadged as something it isn't. Hibs at home is nothing to get the Bolton public excited. What is called for is a Super John type testimonial match against the best of the rest from Jussi's 11 years at the club.
Mounts Kipper Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I will go to pay respect to Jussi and because the money is going to kids charity

That would be a splendid idea, even if it was a cameo from the likes of Campo,Youri,Stelios and Jay Jay would bring the crowd in, are you listening BWFC.
