Henry_VIII Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 All politicians never give staraight forward answers out on this programme, its really irritating Griffin could do with a Max Clifford type advisor behind the scenes if he wants to succeed. All the top MPs employ them. So much of politics is not what substance you get, but what image they project. Im agreed with Zozzy on this one, its like sales in a way, most of the time the customer buys your image and not nessasarily the product, Griffin came over very unprofessional That was my point. Another point(not defending Griffin) but he didnt half get some stick, NO ONE else would have been ganged up on like that. Can you name any politician who would have come out of that looking good?
jules_darby Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 That was my point. Another point(not defending Griffin) but he didnt half get some stick, NO ONE else would have been ganged up on like that. Can you name any politician who would have come out of that looking good? I've seen others on there get the same treatment as Griffin did last night. I've heard comments on the radio that he was picked on by Dimbleby and the panel - well, regarding the panel this free speech thing works both ways - if he can waffle bollocks, the others are free to make him look like a tit for it. As for Dimbleby, he wasn't impartial, but he never, ever is - if anyone there avoids answering a question properly he shoots them down for it...in fact I thought last night as an example he gave Straw stick for avoiding answering. Best thing about it was DD's tie
Big E Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Best thing about it was DD's tie That was a beauty that was!
Boothy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Nick Griffin and basically every other politician going are on of the same breed. Take away his ridiculous extreme views and theres a middle ground there I think many would sympathise with. Last night was a waste of time. A complete unprecedented attack by not only the presenter but everyone there. Griffin couldn't handle it, but I doubt anyone else would either; with slightly less daft views however. It's safe to say, he won't get anywhere due to the nature of not only his past, but some of the immorals he still holds close to him, but I found myself despising the others on the board rather than the tit himself. And as if an army of 5000 pakistanis & black people marched into Britain under Roman rule. Did they fuck. The Roman Empire at it's height only reached North Africa and Eastern Europe slightly breaching what today we know as the Near East. What a pointless addition she was.

MickyD Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 it is sad that the other parties think that the way to react to the succes of the BNP is to attack them rather than tackle the issues that are fucking people off. In one! The BNP, for all their far right tendancies, are the only ones who seem to have the problem of Britain's 'open door' policy on their political agenda. Whilst the other parties hide behind the fact that to speak up against it would be racist, (it isn't) BNP are always going to pick votes up from those who feel threatened by the policy; particularly those whose jobs are in danger because of migrant workers. Immigration IS an issue lots of Brits, ethnic minorities included, would like to see debated.
no balls Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 it is sad that the other parties think that the way to react to the succes of the BNP is to attack them rather than tackle the issues that are fucking people off. I totally agree. This is the thing that really annoys me about the whole, should he be on tv, argument. The people who purport to be the bastions of free speech are the ones who are demanding he doesn't get a voice. My contempt for the anti-fascists is growing, clearly that won't make me sympathise any more with Griffin's mob, but seeing the news last night & the braying crowd outside, could well gain the BNP support.

Should they not be doing both??? Political parties have attacked each other for as long as I can remember - folk are only moaning about it now because it's that tool
MickyD Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 All in all, it seems the BNP are never going to be taken seriously because of the damage caused by their past; denial of the holocaust, picture opportunities with KKK plus loads of other undeniable faux pas. Put the BNP policies with a party who has a legitimate leader without the cupboard full of skeletons, however . . .

Aren't the EDL trying to do something like that. Their rhetoric indicates they do not agree with many of the BNPs views.
Smiffs Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 it is sad that the other parties think that the way to react to the succes of the BNP is to attack them rather than tackle the issues that are fucking people off. Spot on there my friend. They were avoiding it like Griffin was avoiding his past comments, and what a cunt he made of himself in doing so. On the odd occasion they let actually Griffin speak without interupting him with mob rule, he did actually come up with some points that the others wouldn't answer becuase they know they have failed miserably which is why Griffin was sat there in the first place. I'd be interested to see what the audience response would have been if they'd filmed it in say Hag Fold Working Mens Club, instead of a hand picked environment with a larger than demographically proportionate amount of students, asians, and blacks.

Indeed. That was brought up on This Week afterwards by Andrew Neill & those cuddly panelists, Diane Abbott and Michael Portillo agreed that in West London (as the audience was in the main pretty local apparently) he was never go to have many fans.
whiteboy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 well it was good to hear there's no such thing as a bogus asylum seeker

A direct quote from that Muslim Baroness... all BNP members aren't racists.... it's the people on the fringe, who may agree with a lot of what the BNP stand for, but feel alienated by bizarre anti-race legislation.

Henry_VIII Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 What caught my eye the most was he kept licking his lips like he'd put too much salt and vinegar on his chips. Anyone else think he looked like a cross between Ani and Reebok Voice? No? Oh well just me then
MickyD Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 What caught my eye the most was he kept licking his lips like he'd put too much salt and vinegar on his chips. Ever thought of applying for a job with the BBC as a political analyst?
Bigtoe Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Ever thought of applying for a job with the BBC as a political analyst? They wouldnt go for it Maggie T - she could eat an apple through a letterbox Gordon Brown - Can see round corners without moving his noggin

SatanGreavsie Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Very harsh. Very harsh indeed. I wondering, in a bored moment, what an anagram of the two (Ani ReebokVoice) would be. Would it give some cryptic indication of the nature of the hybrid WW poster: Inkier Oboe Cave. Hmmm....just what is an oboe cave? Mind you Satangreavsie NoBalls gives you Assailable Organ Vents
