some come back that was

if I remember right: McGinlay, Mixu & McAteer?

against us

3-0 up v Watford at half time, lost 4-3

And one that ended in glorious failure - Stockport Away a few back - 0-3 at HT, equalised with about 5 mins to go, then they scab one in Injury time.

Gutted at this game, went with my mates who are Stockport fans.

Nothing worse than having to go for a few pints after the game with them.

Tossers.

I remember that one, Ian Marshall scored a towering header in front of us, i thought he'd broke the net, everyone one went mental then they scored  Was it the same game McGinlay was in the away end?

some time between about 89 and 92 (any help statto's?)

Crewe at home

Me and the old man sat in our ST seats in Manny Road South - always the same (few) people sat around us, all recognised each other week in week out in those days...

2-0 down at half time and we were shocking

Random bloke sat behind me on his own...never seen him before (or since) turns to me during the break and says "don't worry kid, we're gonna win this" - he seemed absolutely convinced...me and me Dad thought he was off his tits

Anyway, we won 3-2...think my namesake got the winner

Never saw the mysterious bloke again

FA CUP away to Everton 0-2 down

Won 3-2 and if my memory serves me right i think OC played a little part in the comeback

Prob my favourite

But Reading, from the moment before they take their pen, has to be the winner... it was destiny that year, but at that precise moment I was absolutely bladdered, in the hot sun, thinking what the f?ck has happened here?

Southampton in the cup about 1989, 2-0 down at home I think, drew 2-2... Paddock went from utterly morose to rocking in about ten minutes, that was quality

In the manner of a couple of earlier posters I'd have to say the 18 years, almost exactly to the day, between the Aldershot game (17/05/87) which saw us relegated to 4, and the Pompey game (07/05/05) which saw us qualify for Europe. I was at them both and let's just say the contrast was marked :good:

Reading and Everton were up there.

Hull City away on THAT Friday night, a game we had to win :yahoo:

I was starting to think I was going to be the first to post about one of the most exciting matchs i've ever seen us play. Bringing on back the good times. =D>
