BOWTUN BAKED Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 At what point this season has a plan been used? Quote
Zico Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 i'm not i was just enquiring why you thought klasnic up top was a plan more an experiment, as this game offers an opportunity to do so still not convinced ngog with 5 behind him will get us the goals we need, though it prob is our best hope Klasnic Ryo Davies Petrov NRC Muamba why not, we're running out of time - if it's 0-0 at some point in the 2nd half, change accordingly just a thought, nowt more Quote
HomerJay Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Klasnic up top on his own wouldn't touch the ball. Not really because klasnic can't do it but more because we'd still keep pumping long balls up to him as if he was Davies/ngog/marshall Quote
tyldesley_white Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Klasnic up top on his own wouldn't touch the ball. Not really because klasnic can't do it but more because we'd still keep pumping long balls up to him as if he was Davies/ngog/marshall he only touched the ball 3 times on Sat, the 3rd one was to put it in the net, that is what we are short of, you can have all the work horses you want( in my opinion thats what the midfield is for) but goals win games and Ngog is not that man. Traf Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The answer is simple then, give Ivan 9 touches per game. Quote

We need our midifeld and forward players to work hard though or the defence will cave in. Its no good having Klasnic starting if he has to score 6 for us to win a game. Its better bringing Klasnic on in second half imo. We havent got enough good players in defence or midfield to accomodate him sadly. Quote
derek smalls Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 For me Klasnic has all 3 of these, Ngog doesnt. I am not saying Klasnic is Didier Drogba but IMO he certainly ticks more boxes as a lone striker than Ngog does. If we are to stay up then we need to beat teams / score goals. If we play Petrov left, RYO right and Mavies in behind then we should create plenty of chances and my money would be on Klasnic to score the goals over Ngog. He should at the very least see more action than he has done recently, being our top scorer on 8 prem goals after all. but surely if Klasnic had all of these plus Ngogs energy and strength then Klasnic would be Didier Drogba Quote
Krimzon Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Unfortunately football is all about opinions. Fortunately Im always right and anyone who doest agree with me is always wrong. We should be playing a 4-1-3-1-1. Back four (everyone knows who that should be) anchor man in the Campo role (NRC) , M.Davies, Muamba & Petrov SKD just ahead and Klasnic looking to get on the end of knock downs with the support of M.Davies and Petrov. Obviosly the personel would change if everyone was fully fit. Problem solved, relegation avoided and Europe awaits next season. * * Any doubters just try in on champ man ! yawn Quote

jules_darby Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 What is this obsession with the "campo role"? And I'm with homo on this, don't like that set up either Quote
DazBob Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I can't take a post seriously when it contains the three letters "SKD". Quote
magic legs Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Can't have a line up with 2 strikers, M Davies and Petrov. Suicide. Quote
DazBob Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Can't have a line up with 2 strikers, M Davies and Petrov. Suicide. Unless we're playing someone like Wigan. We'd piss on them with that line-up. Quote
Krimzon Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 You're wrong, very wrong Im not all wrong Im half left......oh, wait, thats not how it goes..... To be fair I dont like it too much either and it was half in jest. I do however think we need to be more narrow. with someone sat infront of the back 4 to give them more protection Muamba or NRC. I dont like 2 defensive midfielders in a midfield 4 or 5 with 2 wingers as I dont think we get enough out of crosses into the box with a lone striker whoever we play up there. Play Klasnic as he is the most effective goalscorer we have and play to his strengths with attacking midfielders i.e. Mark davies and bring Petrov inside a bit more as an attacking centre midfielder rather than a winger and I still think KD has a role to play in holding the ball up so the ball doesnt keep coming back on us every time we clear it. With everyone fit it would be completely different . Quote
Traf Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Can klasnic get through 90mins? If left to Coyle, yes. But those 90 will spread over a 3 month period. #stubbornpingpongwanker Quote
jules_darby Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Yes let's be more narrow because our fullbacks don't need support or protection do they?? Weve never identified that as a weak are of ours have we? Head against brick smiley please come back Quote
birch-chorley Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Can klasnic get through 90mins? Its only the last few games that Ngog hasn't been blowing out of his arse after 60minutes so its not a reason not to start Klasnic IMO. Early on in the season every time we went in front we won. The first 20-30 minutes is crucial for the confidence of our team. For that reason I would start Klasnic to try and get us in front early on and give the team the boost. If we need to change it up top after 60 - 70 minutes then so be it. Quote
