Didledee Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 He had a couple of small sub roles late last season and apart from a few crossfield accurate balls to the wings, I can't really say anything about his game, I don't really take notice of the reserves. Is he any good? it's not like he was in Coyle's 1st team or even coming off the bench. Quote

Bare it in mind he is only 18, He has potential and could do really well for us, its a bit of a blow for him and us but a lateral injury isn't too bad and it will heal a lot quicker due to his age. Didledee Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 We've had some rotten luck with injuries in the last 18 months (?) if we had Lee and Holden last season, we'd have stayed up, no question, I doubt Vela would have featured in the Prem much, but maybe so in the Championship, with Andrews and Spearing, I doubt he'd get much though, it's not an injury that has me annoyed like with Holden and Lee because I don't see it effecting our team, but that's 'cos he's never played for us really. He's a prospect from other people's words, though I find it hard to see him playing much for us, even when he comes back, maybe I'm wrong, get better soon Josh. Quote

Franny, does this mean its not as serious as a cruciate injury? I realyl dont have a clue about this stuff Quote

I realyl dont have a clue about this stuff On paper the cruciate would be worse ruling him out for probably the entire season with a number of operations, the lateral would be about 3 months with rehab after keyhole surgery, Each case is different but thats usually the norm. anewman Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 surely coyles training must be questioned, the players just dont seem strong enoug then in the heat of a match cant hack it it must be like doing 300 sit ups then doing 200kg bench press in the olympics, no strenghtening the vital parts at all Quote

Eavesy Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Stoods got stuck in the grass as he went to tackle. You could see the hole in the ground from the away end after he'd moved away. One of them things. Quote
sunninghill Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Another one who was allowed to carry on playing when he had a knee injury, like Wheater was, think its about time medical staff were told to fuck off eleswhere. Quote

no balls Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Another one who was allowed to carry on playing when he had a knee injury, like Wheater was, think its about time medical staff were told to fuck off eleswhere. Isn't it usually the player who gives the nod to the bench these days? Quote
sunninghill Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Isn't it usually the player who gives the nod to the bench these days? I dont know, but I would have thought with an injury of that kind the pain would have told him it was bad. Quote
Eavesy Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Did he not get up himself and carry on or have i imagined that? He rolled around for 2 minutes. Physio came on, 2 minutes discussion / 'treatment', walked to side. Cane back on for 2 minutes in which he tracked back for one counter and made a sliding tackle, then went off after getting up and signalling that he wernt reet. Be a bugger if he caused more damage by playing on.. Quote

captainmed Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Vela would have come on as a sub a couple of times this season that's all. Don't like injuries but there's about 15 in front of him I wouldn't want out with a bad injury. Quote

BOWTUN BAKED Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Maybe he's become self aware of his performances? Quote
jules_darby Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I rated Vela and backed him when others said he had an attitude because I'd heard otherwise. He ain't come good so far and shown it though. I think for him it's one of those where it's probably be best for all concerned if he moved on for a fresh start elsewhere. But as Tomski has mentioned elsewhere, he could have been tweeting about one of his mates moving on - Clough or Holding perhaps? And also, he could have equally have been talking about summat else....end of Game of Thrones season or summat Quote
