Rembrandt Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) could that not be down to the EX manager Erm ...... where's that comment come from, Whitt ? I wasn't playing the blame game, just saying how poor all four are in different ways. As mentioned by others elsewhere in this thread. Edited October 26, 2012 by Rembrandt Quote
boltonboris Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It shouldn't if Mavies and Spearing keep dropping short and offering themselves as they have the last couple of weeks Yep. Nobody is expecting Baresi and Beckenbauer MKII's... Just a show from the midfielders. ANYBODY can pass a 10 yard ball Quote
tomski Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Eventually mills and wheater, think mills is easing in after a run of games and will eventually be a decent centre half for us. Has shown nice touches good tackles and varied distribution. Just needs to hit a bit of consistancy like many more in that team. Quote
enzo gambaro Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 It shouldn't if Mavies and Spearing keep dropping short and offering themselves as they have the last couple of weeks That relies on the defender having the confidence and touch to get the ball down and get their head up in the first place. Midfielders are also more likely to show if they haven't spent half the game chasing up and down without the ball. Besides, Mark Davies was anonymous against Bristol City <tongue out smiley, er, so to speak> Quote

Besides, Mark Davies was anonymous against Bristol City <tongue out smiley, er, so to speak> If they can't do that they shouldn't be laying at that level; end of. Control and passing is a basic skill; it's hardly like we're asking for a 40 yard crossfield ball to someone's feet or carrying the ball out; it's control, head up, easy pass. There is always a time and a place for a hoof. In context; Ream gives us very little extra from his distribution IMO Thought you'd say that about Mavies; he's being showing more, but I still thought he had relatively little effect on that game - Spearing much more so for me Quote
HomerJay Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 Mills shit passing is fuck all to do with confidence and getting his head up. He ignores the simple option time and time again. Oh and I reckon Zat knight has won 80% of headers at least this season. Quote
Casino Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 i'd be surprised if mills n wheater is ever our pairing wheater only ever palys on the right and so far it looks like thats mills side, too Quote
Gumbo Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Sooty and sweep Dave Sutton and mark winstanly Quote

EyesRight Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 wheater and ricketts, its the future, one naturally left sided, one right, one fast as fuck who can cover the over who goes for all the headers, simples This. When both match fit. Quote
DazBob Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 One that hasn't been used so far this season please. Quote
ex_midlandwhite Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Well, that was confirmation that Ream and Ricketts is not the solution, diabolical! Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) wheater and ricketts, its the future, one naturally left sided, one right, one fast as fuck who can cover the over who goes for all the headers, simples Your right fella, why do people make the game difficult? coyles problem was he assembled players but had no plan as to where he was going to play his signings, we have a decent set of players but no formation that really suits them. ex_midlandwhite Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Don't disagree with Ricketts and Wheater being the best we have possibly got but which of them is naturally left sided? Agree Ricketts could play left of the two but I always thought he was naturally right sided and seemed to play that side mostly today Quote
Smiffs Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 They all look the same to me after 6 hours on the lash so I'll say that big darkie lad and the one with the big nose. Quote
Arrested development Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 People are overreacting regarding the centre backs today. Overall they were decent. We dont defend well enough as a team. Let too many crosses in. We need a lot of work done on the training ground about how to set up when we don't have the ball. Quote
jules_darby Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I thought Ream was shit to be honest Quote
MickyD Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Once again, like last year with Holden, we are waiting the return of the sick, lame and lazy. Wheater is missed at the back. Once fit I think Wheater and Knight is possibly our best pair. Quote

onlyoneawalker Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 We've had Cahill knight wheater ream mills and ricketts for the last 2 years and conceded goals for fun is it all down to personnel or coaching? We've played a lot of different pairings and always conceded so I hope to god Dougie knows what to do because I'm baffled!!! Quote
