Cheese Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 People only think it's out of order because one of the women involved has topped herself. I don't recall reading all the outraged posts yesterday. Unless you can point me to them? Quote
Uncle Albert Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 The nurse should never have put the call through. I very much doubt that the two Aussies would have expected to get through to Middletons nurse. Sad that she's killed herself, but I'm not for blaming the prank callers. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 If she'd been sacked, that would have been OK though? It's moot point to state: 'The people who would have sacked her are the tw*ts'. Quote
gonzo Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 The facts are,the actions of these Dj's led to pushing a woman over the edge mentally leading to her killing herself, wether they meant it or not,it happened. People are going to be fucked off with them as it was a stupid thing to do. Are they to blame??...did their actions cause this lady to kill herself?? I say yes, they did. They didnt intend this to be the outcome, but it was the outcome. Like getting done for causing death by wreckless driving....the persons actions caused the death, although they didnt intend to kill. Quote
superjohnmcginlay Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 My issue earlier was that the prank hadn't been removed The DJs were not to know the outcome, The outcome a woman has killed herself because of her actions, the woman only answered the phone because it was 5:20am and there was no receptionist she made an error of judgement That's tragic Quote
pato Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 She was probably threatened with the Data Protection Act the same act that keeps posters on forums for the most anonymous Quote

Bullshit. The woman killed herself. She wasn't hit by a car. If what you're saying is right, then anybody whoever insults/laughs at/makes a fool out of someone who goes on to commit suicide at some point, deserves to be jailed. You're off your head mate. Quote
Casino Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Like I'm going to go through your post history. Are you saying you've never made light of a certain poster on here engaging in hooliganism? no, i don't believe i have never been my scene drinking too much is more my pastime Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I fucking cringe when I hear wind up calls on the radio, and turn it off or over. Could never watch that Beadle show either. I'm with Cheese on this one, it's all very sad though. Quote
Cheese Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 no, i don't believe i have never been my scene drinking too much is more my pastime Same here. I'd like to buy you a pint, and have a proper conversation, rather than on here where everybody seems scared to express an opinion that goes against the majority. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) There's other forums where it's like those dysfunctional, odd 'grown-up' (as in they're all obviously related but adults) families you encounter in supermarkets - loudly arguing about this, that or the other (usually trivial matters - what type of crisp to buy, for example)...Arguing for arguments sake - attention seeking. Casino Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 okey dokey i'll throw out a virtual handshake still leaves us where we started with me thinking they have to accept all that comes their way while accepting they didn't expect somebody to die Quote

Carlos Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 I though it was hacking, I still do, or deception. You'd have to decide where the crime was committed, here or Oz. Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 undeniable i think it's not undeniable. this woman must have had a lot more on her mind to take her own life, in my opinion. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) still leaves us where we started with me thinking they have to accept all that comes their way while accepting they didn't expect somebody to die I'd say the same thing, they didn't expect the outcome to be a suicide. This incident probably wasn't the only contributing factor in the woman's death either. They must've known it could have resulted in someone losing their job - if the corollary is they lose theirs, then they can't have any complaints. Edited December 8, 2012 by Youri McAnespie Quote
mickbrown Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 It's all about consequences. Same with most stuff. Quote

Consider your hand shaken. And I really do apologise if I offended you. Maybe I do take things too far sometimes. Edited December 8, 2012 by Cheese Quote

Alf Hartigan Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 pushed her over the edge, i said i know you did sorry, just read it again. there was always going to be something to push her over the edge though. Quote
MickyD Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I've read much of the argument and counter-argument and, though it pains me to say, I fall on the side of Cheese and, it seems, very few others. These DJs certainly never set out to hurt anyone. Just as I and millions of others who made prank calls as kids didn't. I think we all rang a random number back in the day. That the nurse took her life is very sad but can't be blamed on her part in this prank. It wasn't the prank but the nurse's state of mind which killed her. Any other nurse may have fucked them off. They may even have put her through but wouldn't have killed themselves afterwards. Pranks really don't kill folk. I really don't get this national holier-than-thou attitude against the DJs for doing exactly what others before them have made a good living at. Quote
Carlos Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I'm just off to ring 999 and claim there's a fire, repeatedly. It's only a prank. Quote
MickyD Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 No, that's a malicious call. There's a difference. Quote
MickyD Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Besides, fill your boots, I'm off now until Tuesday. Quote
Carlos Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 To calling asking to speak to Hugh Jass yes, to phoning up a hospital to get your medical records so we can broadcast them, not really. Quote
