But we've a way to go yet before it proves anything significant. Sadly...... excellent I mean it will never be proof and there never will be concrete proof, but, if life as we know only produces this kind of thing then it's a strong sign blows my mind they can even detect this maybe they can't maybe they just make it up to justify their day job Quote

It's just that this test isn't quite to the significance level for most people to regard it is proof (although it's strongly suggestive). And if it's true - then it would suggest life is pretty common in the universe. Imagine that being confirmed in our lifetime. Magical. Quote

Given the size and age of the Universe (if we believe it's as big and old as we're told it is) I'd find it more surprising if there wasn't forms of intelligent life out there either now or in the past Quote

Like if someone millions of lightyears away were looking at us. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 17, 2025 Posted April 17, 2025 Just been having a look- the Parker Solar Probe is the fastest man made object ever. 430,000 miles per hour as it approached the sun. That's a long time to travel 700 trillion miles. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 There will be many, many things you haven't seen for yourself on this planet; does that mean their reported existence is incorrect? OK, you find it boring- each to their own and all that. Quote

Life as we see here could just be getting started and in real time it could well be much further on. If 'they' were looking at us we'd be a gaggle of plants and trees and single cell organisms. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 It's 124 light years away. In evolutionary time, that's nothing. The planet still has little apart from the soup of life, if it has anything. Quote

All the big brains are saying is yip, life could exist. They dress it up with numbers and words. But it's just a fancy guess. Im bored with this type of news. And I reckon plenty of others are too. I want to see actual evidence. Show me a microorganism or futuristic city's on a rock. Not a computer altered image of a space cloud that has been colourised. Quote
