Traf Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 The man management selection and formation policy of DF are separate issues to the purchase of a rated young kid so as they are not related so I'm cold on one and hot on the other it seems it's difficult for some folk to think coherently on different issues the teams doing shit on the pitch so everything connected to the club is called as shit, some folk really need to pull themselves together. Last summer's dealings - especially the non-bid for Juke - made it obvious that we weren't going to buy our way out of trouble, & the current squad of cheap/free signings & loanees aren't likely to achieve much more than championship survival. It seems that the emphasis has been put on bringing on our own young players with DF already giving chances to Threlkeld, White, Hall, Wilkinson,Vela, Lester, Young, Kellett, (Eaves & Odelusi), with more to come , plus the recent signings of Taylor, Woolery & Clayton. It's a plan that will obviously take time to play out & the majority won't make it, but young players would be helped by a supportive crowd. Sadly, going off the miserable reaction to the Clayton signing & the abuse shouted at Threlkeld at Crewe, it's time & support that the boo boys will not give to the manager or the players. Quote

White, Riley, Wilkinson are all out on loan (the first two even tho we're short at right back). Vela can't get a look in ahead of the likes of Pratley. Clough, Youngs, Iliev, even this kid Thomas - all seem to have real goal scoring potential but are never anywhere near the first team. Threlkeld had a shaky game in the cup and is now persona non grata. Ditto Hall. It's nothing to do with fans getting on their backs. They couldn't have been any more behind Threlkeld and Kellett (what's happened to him?) at the end of last season. We're all desperate for a homegrown star. It's just more DF bullshit...something he does a very good line in. Quote
