Youri McAnespie Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Here's a few words of wisdom (from beyond the grave) from DJ and Wishmaker, Jimmy Savile... (that image came up whilst doing a search for Jimmy Phillips in a Rangers Shirt btw, it's not from my personal archive). Edited October 13, 2014 by Youri McAnespie Quote
Guest Blixa Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 If Ally McCoist had been appointed manager the "bigots" on tuther side would have been just as vocal. JSL Not least because he's a bang average manager at best. If that. Quote
Not in Crawley Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 To be fair to the rangers folk on here, in my personal experience of being in Glasgow the Celtic lot do come across as the bigger dickheads. But as has been pointed out this has absolutely nothing to do with our town and football club. Quote
Sweep Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 mobs or nobs? (I await the stock WW answer...) Both Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Missed the Lennon interview on Talksport is there a recording? Quote
TheWanderer1958 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 No sensible person agrees with intolerance and bigotry. This bollocks should stay in Scotland/Norn Iron. But let's be honest at least the proddy lot are "our" bigots! No Surrender and Neil Lennon's Super White Army!!!!!!! Quote
Cheese Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Look Firthy, your time might be better spent reading the rape laws than contemplating this issue. Now Neil Lennon has been appointed, any true BWFC fan should have no interest in raking up all that shit again because what we all (should) want is success for BWFC above anything else in football. If he delivers this, what more could we ask of the man? I would actually like to sit down with the man and talk and give him the chance to dispel anything that is myth. Won't happen, obviously. Andy Murray missed that opportunity too David Jack - you may be reet but I suspect that we would agree on some stuff as long as religion and politics are kept out of it. I'd have a pint with any Bolton fan any time, irrespective of whether they are also a right wing atheist or not. It took you a lots of words to say absolutely nothing. Quote
Cheese Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I will try and explain my concerns. As I understand it Bolton Wanderers are extremely close to breaching the Financial Fair Play regulations. The consequences i believe involve a 12 month transfer embargo and a 15 point deduction. As ardent a Wanderers fan as I am I cannot see us finishing 16 points above the team in the third relegation spot come next May - so work it out. If Eddie Davies and Gartside have come up with a magic wand or better still a structured plan to finance Lennon plus his staff whilst also paying off Dougie and his entourage then fantastic. I do not expect to be privileged to the details but I am puzzled where the money is coming from. Perhaps there are plans to sell Mark Davies or whomever in January I don't know but I do care. The current ills at the club are mostly down to finance resulting in the need to reduce the wage bill replacing the better players with Championship jobbers. No funds to secure a permanent deal for the likes of the Juke and the continued use of loanees are testimony to the position DF found himself in and NL has now inherited. Of course I would love some billionaire to come in and sort it but it aint happening. I am not a shareholder but a very long standing season ticket holder and will remain so whatever division we find ourselves but I care deeply about our club and do not want to see it go under. So apart from "being concerned", what can you do about any of that? FUCK ALL. So what's the point? Quote
ZiggyStardust Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 For the first time in maybe 3 years, I'm actually excited about this. It could become a spectacular success, or a car crash of huge magnitude. It certainly won't be boring. Quote
magic legs Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He sounded good on Talksport. Danny Murphy kept calling him Lenny. Quote
Danny G Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I've not been this excited since Sammy Lee took over. Quote
Farrelli Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He spoke well on talksport with all the usual new manager comments: -he is itching to get back managing. -he is very impressed with the training set up. -wants points on the board quickly and hopes to give them a bit of spark. -everyone starts with a clean slate. -short term aim is to get out of the bottom three. Second half of the interview he was asked about NI, England and Celtic. Quote
MalcolmW Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He sounded good on Talksport. Danny Murphy kept calling him Lenny. And why not - they were team-mates at Crewe for 3 seasons. Quote
anewman Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He needs to breed some confidence first job Quote
MalcolmW Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 My only negative thought is I cannot figure where the money is coming from to finance the deal? Lennon chose to leave Celtic, presumably to further his ambitions in England. He has a family, so cannot live off his savings for ever. It seems very likely that he will be on a modest wage, with a mahoosive bonus if he gains promotion to the PL. Quote
MalcolmW Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He needs to breed some confidence first job In the (very unlikely) event that he can equal his league match win ratio at Celtic, we will make the play-offs (at least) this season. The reality is that he chose to leave Celtic because he had no opposition domestically, and yet was small fry in the Champions' League. He has no experience in an "anyone can beat anyone" league such as this one, but is clearly up for the challenge. Quote
