Just heard on radio 5 live, that from next season, if the keeper holds onto the ball fir more than 8 seconds, a corner will be awarded to the opposition. 

IFAB have been trialling it elsewhere. 

Thoughts?

IIRC Jussi was the only player picked up by the last rule change to stop keepers holding on to the ball.

Seem to remember hearing Howard Webb on a podcast not that long ago saying that they were going to clamp down on keepers wasting time and that it was going to be trialled somewhere. Think it was aimed at when keepers catch the ball and then suddenly fall forwards and lay on the ball for a while

Traf was a master at that for us. Twas my brother's favorite trick in playground football, catching a shit shot then rolling over a bunch of times whilst shouting 'great save by the big man'
