Alf Hartigan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 also, in what way is it deteriorating? it's still a top league, but all the top players who don't play for the Big 2 are leaving for the other top leagues due to the fact you are very unlikely to win anything in Spain unless you play for Barca or Real Madrid. no balls Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 6 years ago we played bayern, now we face millwall and Yeovil, gartside out If ever one is feeling down and blue, Anewman will be there with a happy thought for the day for you Quote
Elson Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If Ronaldo started at Madrid, then would he be able to cut in the Prem? Messi is the best player in the world, yes Ronaldo won the Ballon D'or this time, Messi has missed a lot of football recently and yet comes back and is scoring for fun again. What's he scared about? just because he's failed to score v English clubs before City means nothing, he'd rip teams to shreds and score just as many, and if you think because English football is deemed more physical etc, do you think Messi can't handle that? he dribbles away from players before they even have a chance to touch him (like v Toure last night) and why exactly would he leave Barca? Okocha and Youri showed their class in an average side, even if Messi went to someone like West Brom he'd still get goals and assists, If you think the Spanish League is shit then well you clearly don't watch it or just want to be biased towards your home leagues, great technical sides, a 3 way title race and has the best players. A.Madrid have a great shot at winning La Liga this year and look at the Copa Del Rey, that's not won by Madrid and Barca every season (3 out of last 15, 2 x Barca, 1 x Madrid) Quote

Didledee Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 yes, i like the league and a few years ago it was light years ahead of the other leagues, but my point about players leaving is one that's made a lot by Spain's media also. Players always come and go for all different reasons, Falcao, Ozil, Negredo, Soldado last summer were all were big losses for La Liga and apart from Falcao I think it was right for them to do so, I wound't say I've noticed La Liga has degrading int he past few years, it still attracts star players and you still see shock results. Quote
Didledee Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 No chance, they've no squad. That's the difference between them and the big two 24 games gone all three on 60 points, A.Madrid have shown they can stay strong by going the distance in Cups and this year they are even stronger, the loss of Falcao was great, but you then have Costa, Villa and Raul Garcia. Sure injuries to key players will effect them, but there's nothing I've seen to suggest they can't, the games v Barca and Madrid have seen differing results. Quote

I just think they've hit a bit of a wall in recent weeks, understandable given how they play and how little they're able to rotate. They'd lost 3 from 4 before the weekend Quote
