jules_darby Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Messi a flat track bully now Fucking hell He's convinced the world 3 times over Better than verbal kint LMFAO Quote
Zico Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 May be a chance if the Spanish league carries on deteriorating, would like to see him at Arsenal, if he rejects us obviously. also, in what way is it deteriorating? they've got 3 teams in the last 16 of the CL, only we have more with 4 germany have 3 aye, Bayern and Dortmund did both in the semis last year, but take a look at Bundesliga and then La Liga and see which looks competitive, leverkusen are nothing on this stage either the italians have 1 team, and they're not exactly great in serie a right now i get it if people find the style boring, but it's not shit Quote
Casino Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 i don't think anybody says it's shit shit but that last night was boring you can't even get your kicks from winning cos theyre not even your team Quote
COYW Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I didn't realise that Swansea had drawn Napoli in the Europa League. Away leg should be interesting... Quote

Zico Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 i don't think anybody says it's shit shit but that last night was boring you can't even get your kicks from winning cos theyre not even your team well the word dogshit was used, and the theme seemed to be the league is not as good as it used to be, it's getting worse and messi isn't that good they did just make our best attacking team, on paper, look ordinary they don't turn it on every week, they just generally do a job when they have to, by whatever means required bit like arsenal who are by far the most entertaining team in the PL era, except they don't bottle it and they can defend Quote
Casino Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 ok, well clearly there is some bollocks being posted i turned it off tho and i think a lot did Quote
frank_spencer Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 It was on whilst I did some house work. Didn't really grab my attention especially when citeh went down to 10 Quote
gonzo Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I think La liga is dog shit. Well it's dog shit to watch anyway. Slow, pedestrian, basically non contact...not for me ta. My point was messi is that good he runs rings round everybody every week,so why not have a bash elsewhere to See if he can cut it in a different league? See if he can cut it in a different style of play? maybe where he hasn't got one of the best collections of individuals football has seen behind him? To me he's bottled by staying in a league where it's nothing more than a training exercise for him week in week out. Quote
COYW Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 He plays against the best teams from different leagues every season. It's called the Champions League. He's second only to Raul in the list of all time leading goal scorers in that competition. Quote

No, i'm pointing out that he doesn't need to move to a different league in order to compete against teams from different leagues. The fact that he has decent players supplying the service to him would only be relevant if he was competing against players who don't. Quote
Spider Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Now your just argueing for argueing sake. If you can't grasp what I'm getting at then I'm honestly not that bothered. He just can't grasp it. No-one is saying he's shit. No-one. He's clearly a class act, but my point was (if you'd care to consider it for a single fucking second without immediately punching your keyboard) that I think he would struggle to get more than 20 goals a season in the Pre. Just to provide more detail, as I obviously must to people who have the reading skills of a 4 year old, I think he would score in the high teens comfortably. But not many more due to his previous performances against English clubs on English grounds. My research is based on the facts I have previously pointed out. Apologies for the dissertation length post but it seems to be the only solution. Fucking hell. Quote

Thing is you only see him against the top English sides when the stakes are high and defences tight, and when away from home like last night barca play to keep the ball and not open teams up at every opportunity He'd score for fun against the Fulham, Norwich and cardiffs if he was up top for city or arsenal Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 he'd score thirty odd in a manchester city side Quote

Didledee Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) If Ronaldo started at Madrid, then would he be able to cut in the Prem? Messi is the best player in the world, yes Ronaldo won the Ballon D'or this time, Messi has missed a lot of football recently and yet comes back and is scoring for fun again. What's he scared about? just because he's failed to score v English clubs before City means nothing, he'd rip teams to shreds and score just as many, and if you think because English football is deemed more physical etc, do you think Messi can't handle that? he dribbles away from players before they even have a chance to touch him (like v Toure last night) and why exactly would he leave Barca? Okocha and Youri showed their class in an average side, even if Messi went to someone like West Brom he'd still get goals and assists, If you think the Spanish League is shit then well you clearly don't watch it or just want to be biased towards your home leagues, great technical sides, a 3 way title race and has the best players.
