davidjack Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 What an incredible sight a full Burnden was pre-Normid and pre-seats in the Lever End. We held the 1970 semi-final too, with 60k on I think. Anyone on here at either of those? Quote
Guest Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wembley is a ballache for the semi's but it was part of the deal to help finance the new Wembley that semi's would be played there - I wish successful clubs would hurry up and pay that place up then we can get back to neutral grounds Wembley is a neutral ground Quote
jayjayoghani Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wembley is a neutral ground Isn't neutral to the North! Quote
gonzo Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Chelsea v Blackburn at OT 15/4/2007 (after MU v Watford at Villa the previous day). Jesus. I have no recollection of these games. Who won the final? Quote

Footage of the queues outside Burnden at around 3:18: Bonus points if you know how many FA Cup finals, semi finals and replays of either were held at Burnden. Edited April 18, 2015 by COYW Quote

Burndens Bogs Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I was on the Embankment with my owd fella for the Man U Leeds semi, it was packed out with mainly Man U fans, but when Leeds scored they pulled out previously hidden scarves and twirled them round their heads. A lot of Man U fans left early to stake their positions and "have a word" with Yorkshiremen outside. I saw a Leeds fan get butted on Manny Rd before the game, as a nipper it was the first time I'd ever witnessed football violence - it sure as fcuk wasn't to be the last. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Glad Reading lost. Don't like them and Steve Clarke is a prick too. He really gets on my nerves, thinks he's brilliant but done fuck all to back up his persona Quote

Actually saw those Leeds fans make their presence known. They were quite close to us. It got a bit tasty later. Quote
SatanGreavsie Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 When is the draw for the next round? Always wondered - do they do an official draw for the final so that someone is officially the home team - and if so, what do they get out of it? Quote
MalcolmW Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Always wondered - do they do an official draw for the final so that someone is officially the home team - and if so, what do they get out of it? Home shirts on a colour clash, but I think they will just toss up later this week. Quote

Yes, get the home dressing rooms, think we had it against Stoke, not sure it did us any favours! Edited April 19, 2015 by RoadRunnerFan Quote
Carlos Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Arsenal and Villa need to sing Happy Birthday at the final. Quote
